Was there not a guide just how to do that somewhere around here. I have not seen it in a long time though.

If you’re using Debian or a derivative like Ubuntu or Linux Mint, you might want to give a try to the alternate installation method provided by ./play.it for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines:
Install the Vampire: The Masquerade games on Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/etc.

baal_666: <snip>
For Fallout: New Vegas you could try my Wine wrapper: https://www.gog.com/forum/fallout_series/fallout_new_vegas_for_linux

baal_666: Two games, Vampire - The Masquerade - Bloodlines and Fallout New Vegas, fail to install on Linux through Wine and PlayOnLinux.
I'll try installing VtM shortly, but what you describe sounds pretty strange.

UPDATE: OK, I just installed the latest GOG release, and it installed fine. Didn't have any such issue that you described. May be your installer is corrupted?

How do I download Linux version of games I own using GOG since there is no GOG Linux client ?
Using Linux Mint 18.1
This question might have been asked many times before, a sticky would be welcome.

If I use Wine then I will be installing the Windows version of GOG and not the Linux native version. I made the mistake of selecting Yooka Lay-Lee on GOG with my Kickstarter selection. Had a knoiwn then I would have selected Steam reward.
When providing a solution please be brief, but specific about how as I am Windows OS Specialist and advanced Linux user. Thank you !

Through your browser. Go here, search for your game, click on it, change OS to Linux, then download the installer (and any other files you want).
Alternatively, there is and [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gogrepopy_python_script_for_regularly_backing_up_your_purchased_gog_collection_for_full_offline_e]gogrepo.py which should run on Linux just fine and allow you to download your collection just as easy (or easier, if you wish to download a lot of them).
Edit: Links added.

Thanks for the advice, but I just need the standalone installers to keep working on Wine. As I said, I suspect a change regarding Galaxy to be the problem. The old ones work as always. GOG doesn't support Wine officially, but I hope they look into it anyway.
I'm using Archlinux by the way.

baal_666: I'm not sure if this is the best place, but here is my problem:
Personally, I would have gone with the Wine thread.

Based on your own ignorance & fear or what? GOG has not (yet) changed the installers regarding Galaxy. They also said they will keep extra Galaxy installer free installers. Perhaps you missed shmerl's response, but he tried the current Vampire - The Masquerade - Bloodlines installer. It installed without issue for him. More complete system info would be useful as well as the particular Wine build, name & size of the installer files and any Wine errors (debug log in PoL). You could also use the Arch Wine package instead.

./play.it now supports Arch Linux and its derivatives, enjoy ;)

Could it be associated with lack of 32bit audio drivers (alsa-utils, libasound2 etc.)? I had this issue some time ago.

Or (in case the game is bundled with those libs) you can try to remove bundled versions to force it to use the system ones instead.

Undertale isn't bundled with any libs strangely enough. I just pointed it to the Steam runtime. I'll try another workaround...

No, no, no! Steam Runtime is a bad idea. Let's find out what the game needs!

1. Can you show me your ldd output for the game itself ( $ ldd ./UNDERTALE )?
Here is mine:
linux-gate.so.1 (0xf7732000)
libstdc++.so.6 => /lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0xf7581000)
libz.so.1 => /lib/libz.so.1 (0xf7569000)
libXxf86vm.so.1 => /lib/libXxf86vm.so.1 (0xf7561000)
libGL.so.1 => /lib/libGL.so.1 (0xf74f9000)
libopenal.so.1 => /lib/libopenal.so.1 (0xf7459000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0xf7401000)
librt.so.1 => /lib/librt.so.1 (0xf73f1000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0xf73d1000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0xf73c9000)
libcrypto.so.1.0.0 => not found
libXext.so.6 => /lib/libXext.so.6 (0xf73b1000)
libX11.so.6 => /lib/libX11.so.6 (0xf7271000)
libXrandr.so.2 => /lib/libXrandr.so.2 (0xf7261000)
libGLU.so.1 => /lib/libGLU.so.1 (0xf71e9000)
libssl.so.1.0.0 => not found
libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0xf71c9000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xf6fe9000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x56628000)
libGLX.so.0 => /lib/libGLX.so.0 (0xf6fc1000)
libGLdispatch.so.0 => /lib/libGLdispatch.so.0 (0xf6f61000)
libxcb.so.1 => /lib/libxcb.so.1 (0xf6f31000)
libXrender.so.1 => /lib/libXrender.so.1 (0xf6f21000)
libXau.so.6 => /lib/libXau.so.6 (0xf6f19000)
Don't mind those two "not found" libs, they are supplied via launch script.

2. What is the output for OpenAL ( $ ldd /lib/libopenal.so.1 )?
Again, here is mine:
linux-gate.so.1 (0xf772b000)
librt.so.1 => /lib/librt.so.1 (0xf7651000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0xf7631000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0xf7629000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0xf75d1000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xf73f1000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x5661d000)
And everything works in my case, so the difference must be it.
If gog work on mac?

Yeah, I was just being lazy... What I ended up doing was look at the deps.txt file that comes with the game. I grabbed the specific libs I was missing from another game I got from GOG, and put them in a folder called 'lib' in the game folder. From there, all I had to do was make a new bash script that contained "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./UNDERTALE" in the game folder. Everything works fine now.
