mchack: I was bored and went out looking for game deals on my own for once ;) (else I rely on this thread for all my game deal needs ;) ... Well, haven't found anything worth reporting, but I found something very weird to my eyes:

There's this rpg sale over on mac/wingamestore.com and it's rather underwhelming, but what really got me was that they sell "Iesabel" for $3.75 at 75% off which struck me as rather expensive. Well they have set the base price at $15 whereas Steam and most other shops sell it at a base price of only $4.99!
So is it normal for a store to arbitrarily set the base price at three times the usual, presumably just so they can put a "75% off"-label on it and sell it for slightly less then the others, or did they just not get the memo of a presumed base price decrease sometime ago?
So what do you think? Is it evil or stupid or normal (and I'm just naive)?
I think it's normal. The game's price used to be $14.99 up till December and while the dev/pub did inform BundleStars in time for the price drop, either:
a) they forgot about WinGameStore (though a bit unlikely if you take the discount into account)
b) it takes time to renegotiate the contract to change the game's price
ok, that makes sense. Thank you two for the enlighting answers :)

If they DRM-free that movie, I'll buy the bundle. Obvs I have no use for steam video.

So, is the Devolver Digital movie: "Angry Video Game Nerds: The Movie" ?

IMHO that's a pretty good bundle right there
FWIW I found this from the Oceanhorn blog from almost a year ago
"... and if you use Apple computers, like I do, you will be happy to know that Oceanhorn's Mac version will follow eventually. More on that later!" anyone know if it is still likely to happen?

I'd like to thank Oceanhorn for single handly driving the BTA price down about $1 :)

How you figure? I think the BTA started at $6

Easy!

1) I'm terrible at math
2) I was estimating (see 1)
3) ???
4) When I first got around to looking, it was $6.75. When I waited about 10 minutes, it dropped to about $6.10. That was enough to make me happy.

That's the reason I bought into the BTA. I was going to grab it on here, but getting it for that price and DRM-free was good enough for me.
