It didn't work with a UK account I was using, but switching to my US account did the trick; I paid with Paypal. The points'll probably be US-region-locked, too. For reference, 1600MSP retails for US$20 but can often be obtained for US$16, so for 1200MSP, anything less than $12 is A Good Price™. :)
And, yes, OBVIOUSLY this is just a trick by "M$" to make us stockpile points so that we still have leftovers next year and need to buy the One in order to spend them. </tinhat>
I already posted this in the classified thread, but posting here again anyway in case people don't read that thread. While the SALE for the codes is restricted to US only, the codes they send you are NOT. I'm in AU and I could not buy the codes with my AU account. However, I have traded for FOUR codes online so far, and all four redeemed on my AU account. Just in case anyone was put off by the region restriction, it might be worth trying anyway. If it worked for me here in AU, it
might (emphasis on that word) work where you are too.
Its a pretty good deal. I find it is fairly easy to find points for sale @ around $1 per 100. This Promo supplies them for half that. Pretty significant discount and well worth trying for them while they are available.
