So how's the state of deadness? Do people still play it, do the devs still give a shit or have they dropped it? The last news seem to have been about some item shop crap a month ago. And speaking of which, is this game P2W and will I have to pay for extra content before I even get a chance to say that this game may be pretty cool? Does this thing have shitloads of locked off parts that ask you to drop a couple of more bucks like they do in Lord of the Rings online?

I haven't seen this posted already, but Matrix games are having a rare sale until 5th July on Distant Worlds and its expansions to celebrate the new expansion "Shadows":

"For newcomers we have an amazing bundle offer. Get the entire Distant Worlds series and all its expansions for just $69.96! To get the bundle just add Distant Worlds to your cart and the bundle will be offered to you. That’s a saving of nearly 40% off the base price!

If that’s just too much content for you, we’re also dropping the base game to just $19.99 and all expansion will be sold separately for just $19.99! if you purchase Return of the Shakturi or Legends as part of the bundle, they are available for only $14.99! That’s a savings of up to 50% off the base price!

As an added bonus to existing Distant Worlds fans, through the duration of the sale Distant Worlds – Shadows will be priced at $19,99, $5 off the regular price, or the same discount given to newcomers to the series who take advantage of our bundle discount."

Don't forget that each expansion requires all those prior to it in order to play.

Edit: Added link.

How can anyone resist $69!

Lol true, but this game and its expansions almost never go on sale, so for a lot of us this is good news.

Haha, yeah. Here I was thinking this was a gaming deals thread. I could post every week about how Tagimoto has been permanently 66% off on Desura for at least half a year now like some people are content to do, but I know the difference between a discount and a deal.

Whatever, I needed a good laugh anyway, so I won't mark it as spam this time. I've done that enough with all the referral links lately anyway. I can confirm at this point that marking as spam does absolutely nothing. Except perhaps dissuade TheEnigmaticT from being on speaking terms with me somehow. He never did message me back.

Well, that's just lovely. If you bother to look at my joining date, you'll see that this most certainly isn't spam.

I just thought I'd share the fact that a game a lot of people like and is overpriced has a discount for a while. If you're not interested, there's no need to throw insults at other members of the community. I've nothing to gain by sharing this information.

So, you're spamming support with worthless spam reports?

obviously

So for a mostly complete listing of all sales on Steam, GG, GMG, Gamestop Desura etc incl. the time since the discount and regional filters / restrictions
check this site:

http://www.steamgamesales.com/

Thank you. Does it convert the US prices? Because they list e.g. Post Mortem for 3.86 EUR and GG shows it to me for 5.00 EUR.

What is the Magic column?

Most of the times they do the regional specific conversion right but it's not 100% errorproof as far as I remember.
Sometimes their database needs a bit longer (a few hours) to update, also.

EDIT: the Anuman sales is really off for German prices. These are actually the Polish prices, so I guess the
local VPN / Proxy whatever Server they are using to gather the info has been GeoIPed into 'Not Germany' again.

This sometimes also happen to my Proxy/VPN Service Provider.

It's magic ;)
from what I gathered some kind of counter/ ratio of how people like the game (either by clicking or buying).
Was never really useful to me.
