johnki: So I bought Forge of Freedom...I have a 4 kb download that is giving me "access denied" in Wine and "Will not run on this version of Windows" on my girlfriend's computer. I have to wonder if the download isn't broken. I thought maybe it was just a downloader but it's not working and the download is supposed to be 700-ish mb in total. Bleh.

Update on this. Support responded pretty fast with an alternate method for downloading and is doing the same for anyone else having issues.

I thought Just Cause 1 used Securom? Was it removed? If so then I may consider getting it. I really enjoyed the second game (which was Steamworks only), but I avoided the first due to Securom. This was a few years ago though.

Can't talk about other shops, but at least at GamersGate Just Cause 1 is definitely DRM free (I got mine from there for 3.74€ when it was on sale), so it's not unlikely that it is DRM-free in other shops as well.
