I'm guessing "Other DRM" for these means Origin? I've avoided it up until now, but this is really tempting.

They activate to your EA account but don't require Origin to run, if that's what you mean. Only a small handful of games do actually, Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, Dead Space 3... probably a couple more.

Cool, thanks for the info. :) Picking up part 2, as I've only had a chance to play a bit of it.

Even the classic C&C including the original games require Origin to run. >_<

And it doesn't even have the basic compatibility issues fixed.

EA and Origin are a blast to play with, it's funny how I don't even notice their departure from Steam.

Yeah, just because it came out recently I guess. Basic rule of thumb seems to be everything since Battlefield 3 requires the client.

Siannah: ... the problem is more coming from the repeated self-slapping your face while yelling "DAMN, you KNEW IT!" afterwards....

grviper: The problem is that 2 crappy games for $5 is $10, which is enough to BTA of most good bundles. 4 crappy $5 games is a $20 which is enough for a decent indie on the release day.
Ah, but nothing beats the morbid curiosity that draws us to see a good train wreck up close sometimes. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe the game looks good in some ways or is part of a series that was otherwise good. So we want to believe it cannot really be all bad. Maybe we expect it to be terrible but want to experience the fun of laughing at it. There are lots of reasons with which I could justify blowing 5 bucks on a title everybody hates, including possibly me. It's still entertainment of a sort.

That said, I have some standards left. I am not at all tempted to play Daikatana.

Psyringe: GamersGate's Daily Deal is Game of Thrones for 22.50€ (50% off). I know nothing about the game, so I can't tell whether that's a good deal.
The game is good but not spectacular. I had a good time with it while it lasted but I won't be replaying it. As for the deal itself, it's not that good. I got it for €5 during the Origin sale a few weeks back, when everything was €5.
