orcishgamer: Just a few posts up people are saying Splinter Cell and SC: Chaos Theory are both better than the Vegas games.
avatar
tomhrxbfg: Yea but I already got chaos theory, and the original splinter cell is very similar.. I would like to try something else
The first Vegas has far better user reviews, though neither of them have any red flags saying "this game is awful", at least not from reviews.

Many people said they won't ship to their countries. It says it'll go to "select countries outside of the U.S." (and anywhere in the U.S.), but I don't know where. If anyone does get it shipped to them, let me know.
I played a good portion of the first one. Plays like NWN1 with better graphics. Pretty good game. I really like the Dark Eye setting in that you're not playing an RPG based on D20 or Everquest/WoW rules.

If you like CRPGs like the infinity engine ones and NWN, you'll like it. DId it do better in Germany than here? I never saw any press for it. I bought it on a lark when it was on sale, then found out it was German RPG of the year or something.

Rainbow 6 Vegas titles are great. I get a lot of fun out of those. They don't feel like two different games. They feel more like one game available in two parts. Even the narrative is "cut in half" with the first half being told in the first game, and the second half being told in the second game. I only say this as I did not know this going in (I just saw "Tom Clancy" on the cover and that was enough for me) and had I not bought both parts at the same time for seriously cheap I would have been ready to kill someone after playing the first and finding it.. just stops.. to be continued in the second game.

They may not be the best Tom Clancy games, but at least for me they are close to the most cheesy Tom Clancy fun. If I could only have one "other" (besides Splinter Cell) Tom Clancy game, that would be it. So much rubbishy goodness. You'd have to be seriously hard nosed, or not all there, to not be entertained by the wonderfully ridiculous Tom Clancy fare on offer in this one.

Just a little warning. The game has has many crash bugs and for some people can't even be finished it because show stopping bugs.

It is acknowledged by Neocore and Windows 7 compatibility is not guaranteed.

Known Issues with Windows 7

As some players have noticed, Windows 7 64 bit in combination with some graphics cards, as well as a third, so far unknown complication that causes the game to crash. We can't be sure exactly which graphics cards, as the problem does not occur in all cases. We have not been able to reproduce the issue despite having the same configurations available as some of those who get the crash.

The developers are doing what they can to fix this but we don’t anticipate it being an easy fix (an external QA company is also involved) nor do we have a time estimate on it. Therefore we would like to work with you to see if we can offer a solution.

Current customers: If you are unable to play the game due to this issue and want to return it, we will do our best to facilitate that. Please contact support (@ ) paradoxplaza.com and mark the subject REFUND. We will need a full report of the problem, a copy of your DXDIAG file, proof of purchase and specification of where it was purchased. We will handle these on a case to case basis, please allow a little time for handling.

Future customers: If you have Windows 7 64 bit, we strongly recommend downloading the demo and running it on your machine first http://www.lionheartthegame.com/demo. If your computer handles the demo without issues, the full game should run as well.
Too bad because I liked it, before having to leave it for frustration.
