List some games that you dream would get a remake into today's graphic/sound/control/gameplay standards but probably will never see the light of day. Explain what you would like updated or changed from the original, I'll go first:

Fade to Black from PSX:
Update graphics and controls, try and keep the sound and atmosphere from the original

The Last Ninja trilogy from Amiga:
update graphics and controls but keep the original music at least as an option

Speed Devils from Dreamcast:
mostly graphics, plus more tracks, keep the fun, craziness and spirit of the original though

Duke Nukem 3d:
this one might even get a remake, needs a graphic overhaul mostly, everything else is pretty great already
Centaurai Alliance from Apple 2 and Commodore 64:
Improve the interface, fix the bugs, some balance tweaks.
I like the concept of Darklands but it looks terrible so I've never bothered with it. That's incredibly superficial of me, especially since I'm an old git who was growing up when Darklands had perfectly acceptable graphics. But I didn't know about the game at the time. If this was remade I would be very interested.

Alone in the Dark is another game which I never got round to playing. I keep think "should I?" but then I look at the screenshots and I always think "maybe later". This is another one which appeals to me in every respect except the visual one.

I'm planning to start playing Tropico (1). It sounds like such an interesting game and it doesn't LOOK too bad either, for an oldish game. Its sequels all look much better, of course, but from what I've read they are not better games, maybe not worse either. So remade doesn't always mean better, but better visuals are what we all expect now.
I'd like to see Xenus aka Boiling Point: Road to Hell get remade. I liked the concept of an open-sandbox world where you can take control of everything from planes to helicopters to tanks to ships and work to help one of several factions. I really like the game, but it is pretty buggy, the interface isn't totally appealing or intuitive, combat feels fairly off for a FPS, and the faction system doesn't function the way I wished it would (no faction can ever "dominate" the map so you never feel like your work or decisions are having an effect).
Tomb Raider 2 !

Personally i don't give a shit about graphics, as long as a game is playable, it's fine by me so in general i'm not a big fan of "Remake the game because the graphics "suck". I don't even know how as a gamer you can put graphics over everything else. To me graphic is by far the most unimportant thing and it's sad that most developers put more emphasis onto it than on the really important things.

Monkey Island 3
Hire Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer and Dave Grossman and turn the piece of crap Lucas Arts puked out into something good and deserving for the name Monkey Island.

Robinson's Requiem
There is so much potential in thissurvival game but it just came out too early. Be it the clunky controls, the limited gameplay mechanics, the rather limited world, i think it would be awesome if it was remade with todays possibilities.

Fatal Racing
Either Sequel or Remake. There wasn't another game that combined car carnage and completely insane track designs (especially the hidden third set of courses) like this one

Gabriel Knight II: The Beast Within
It's a great game, i totally love it but i want a remake for one reason: To get the chapters that had to be cut out for budget reasons

Terminal Velocity
I always liked the game, speeding through those tunnels, seeing enemy ships burn and crash into the ground, it was amazing back then.

Rivdoric: Tomb Raider 2 !
That game is almost perfect! The only thing to be had from a redo is fucking it up. :P
Pitfall

I have The Lost Expedition. It's not bad but trying that 'gator jump' in 3rd person is a pain in the ass.

especially when you get bitten in it! I'm not aware of that game, going to go look it up. It would be cool to get a story and a jungle-action gameplay Pitfall-inspired re-visioned game, though.

Anyone ever play the SwordQuest games? I'd LOVE those to get remakes, with more story and details and all of that wonderfulness. I loved those so much!!!!!!!

There was once a remake in the workings, but Gearbox didn't allow the devs to release it because it would net losses in Duke Nukem Forever, story here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_Nukem_3D:_Reloaded

My personal favorite would be the Legacy of Kain series, but knowing Square Enix now, I'd rather not see it happen at all. They would water down the remake, plague it with DLC's, achievements and slap DRM and in the end it wouldn't be about what the fans want, but how much profit the sales team estimates.

Only a handful of games have been remade correctly, Tomb Raider Anniversary being one of my favorites.
Bushido Blade. Why? It's (in my opinion) the best sword fighting game of all time but you're stuck with either a Ps1 version (can be hard to find one in good condition) or a Playstation Store digital version (and I think it's limited to the Japan version of the store?). The remake would mostly be porting it to modern systems including the PC so not quite a straight remake, although I'd love to see its graphics brought up to 2015 standards.
My list is unchanged for quite some time:

The Suffering Prison is Hell & Ties that bind (PLEASE);
Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver series;
Far Cry 2 (I have a list of improvements, Ubisoft call me);
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines;

neurasthenya: Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines;
Bloodlines is in my top three games of all time (usually sitting at #1) but I really don't think it needs a "full" remake. Just fix the darn bugs, and maybe update a few things like the hair models/textures and the dress and hair physics and it's good to go in my opinion. I honestly think it has aged beautifully, bugs aside.

I agree with only a remaster, but when I include it in on the "remake territory" it is because I think that whole universe can be expanded, adding the other vampire clans that didn't made into the game would be a good example. Or a char creation system, definitely not a open world but bigger levels and alternatives side quests, etc.
