Out of curiosity, what are the games that you have devoted the most time to?

What kind? Strategy, RPGS, MMOs?

I have several, the first Civilization in MS-DOS was the first game i remember staying up all night for. Then it was Daggerfall, another game i put a ton of hours into. Then i guess the other big culprits were Morrowind, Civilization IV and the Monster Hunter series.

I think Morrowind is my most played game, i bought it when it came out for the XBox, played it maybe 100-150 hours, then got the GOTY edition with the expansions, played it for another 100 or so hours and then i got it on PC and discovered the ton of mods for it and spent even more hours in it.

Monster Hunter 2 and Unite i must have put over 100 hours in each when traveling.

I know some people have been playing WOW and the likes for years now.

What´s your story?

Mostly multiplayer games, don't have exact numbers but i might have an obscene number of hours in games like TF2, CS (1.6, Source, GO, etc), LoL, etc.
The most recent one must be the crappy BF4 since it was the only decent multiplayer game that ps4 has, perhaps almost 200h? Now, singleplayer, uhm.... dunno, probably almost 100h in some rpg (especially if i needed to grind).

The original X-COMs, Simcities, BG2, the X2-X3 games, some tycoon games like Rollercoaster Tycoon, Command and Conquer series and Age of Empires 2, probably the old Star Wars space sims as well, the games from Paradox: Hearts of Iron series, Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis IV, then there's other games like Borderlands 2 Hundreds of hours don't really do justice, it's more like thousands for some games I've played or replayed and replayed over the years.

Mulitplayer wise, definitely BF1942 almost every weekday for 2 years, the first Call of Duty. MMOs like WoW I play for years back in 2005-2007 when I was hardcore raiding, don't play WoW anymore.

When I tell people how much time I've put into Terraira I usually forgo hours for a calendar or better yet, carbon dating.

As a young adult Morrowind, about 2 years non stop.... I took a month off to plan on how to do every mission and side mission as well as for everything on the dlcs.... never again

Morrowind definitely tops out my list- easily put over 1000 hours into that game thanks to mods (wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to 2000). The other Elder Scrolls titles are certainly up there as well (Steam tells me I've put 535 hours into Skyrim, and that's with just two playthroughs). Civ 3 and 4 are certainly up there as well, along with HoMM3 (EDIT: and Alpha Centauri, can't believe I forgot that one). I know I put a lot of hours into TIE Fighter back in the day too. And aRPGs are a major weakness of mine- put a ton of hours into Diablo 2, Titan Quest, Torchlight 2, and Path of Exile.

Yeah, I can’t believe how *anyone* could forget that one ;)

There are others but they're omitted for multiple reasons including forgetting which specific game in a series it was (case in point: trying to remember if it was WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth or WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain).

On Steam - Torchlight 2, although I haven't recorded my time on GOG games I'm sure I have more on Unreal Tournament 2004 and Terraria of course :) (lot's of digging there!). Also not on both platforms (well it's on steam now, but I play it far long ago so it doesn't count as steam game to me) - Quake Live and the Blizzard's Star Craft 1.
