I'll write them back and wait a month.
Then we'll see.
In any case, I'm not inclined to let them walk all over me.
If they want to abandon the GoG version, they have to take responsibility for that choice.

At least you got a reply. The devs of Another world keep ignoring me. The ones of Figment however listened ... partially. Two out of three wishes is still a success, even if it won't make Linux users happy.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command

because the Steam version of the game has the integration to their services, almost everyone puts the MODs there... there are already more than 250 MODs (and growing) in the Steam Workshop.

The issue is that all those MODs are inaccessible from the GOG version of the game... and while those are compatible with the GOG version, the only way to download them is to own the game on Steam too.

This is anyway an issue even for the Epic Store version of the game... so, if you want to access the MODs (that are the greatest addition to the game), go with Steam.

I don't think it's second class because the creators can offer their mods in direct link if they want but don't. This is more of an issue for modders who prefer the easy way out and not the studio and therefore not really a second class game.

The game Megaquarium has exactly the same functionality, but the MODs in the SteamWorkshop can be downloaded even if you don't own the game on Steam.

I suppose that the limit imposed on the Starship Trooper game MODs was set up by the devs of the game.

I'm forced to admit that despite the very directive and unsympathetic nature of my requests, they have always responded immediately (each time).

Project Zomboid

Game is extremely moddable and customizable, which has birthed an absolutely insane modding scene for it. The problem? It's all based on Steam's workshop. So either you have to go through a 3rd party site to be able to download the workshop content (which takes quite a bit when it comes to any decent amount of mods, especially entire collections) or you're completely out of luck since all those mods are seemingly hosted nowhere else.

Wife and i love modding, especially in games such as PZ that it got to a point where i ended up asking the devs to just toss me a couple of Steam keys, which they thankfully did after i provided proof of purchase on GOG.
