neumi5694: I WAS not sure (I wrote "I think"), but now that I did some reading I AM sure.
Thanks for checking. So that means the DRM-free version they handed out for free on the EGS is more up-to-date than the paid version on GOG. Nice one, Aspyr...
Well I better go download the EGS version then and back it up incase DRM gets added to it.

That was the first thing I did :)
As far as I know that never happened anyway.

It's a shame that the remake on all platforms misses the great soundtrack. The new tracks are not bad, but listening to these reinvented 50s classics while playing was something else.

In any case I am wondering why this game is not mentioned in the google doc on page 1.
I am thinking GOG version needs an update for Fallout 3 too. Because GOG version is simply a GFWL crack. But Steam version completely botched GFWL (Native DRM-free besides SteamStub) and has some another stability fixes. Again we are second class citizens too :(

Well, in fact it did. Control was first without DRM, then DRM got added and then they removed it again.

Exsurgent: And by the way: I haven't figured out how to change the in-game language yet either. Don't you just love it when devs link the game's language to your system language? I wonder if they genuinely think that this is somehow convenient for us...
They do think exactly that and in most cases it is also the case as well. However - you should ALWAYS give options so the game should default to the system language but still offer the option to change it afterwards. For those games that unfortunately don't offer such an option you can find some system language emulators online which MIGHT work. Since I downloaded the game as well, I will see if I can help you with changing the language.

Edit: Tried Stubbs and you can change the language by using this

It has been a long time since I needed Language Emulator. Most of the time I could replace it with a registry entry. Thanks for the info.

Exsurgent: And for those keeping track: Eastward still hasn't received any updates on GOG, almost a month after release.
avatar
Crimson-X: I contacted Chucklefish (the publisher) on their Discord about Eastward. They are looking into it.
According to GOGDB, Eastward has received an update today. Should be on par with the Steam version now, as far as I can tell from the build numbers. Many thanks to Crimson-X for contacting the publisher! I guess in this case, it might just have been a case of a small developer forgetting to update their game here.

On a side note: I previously mentioned Ion Fury not receiving its 2.0 update, which was released on Steam on 7 October 2021 and how the devs say the delay is due to GOG's QA process. I've had a look at the 3DRealms discord and someone from Voidpoint has confirmed on there that the team is aware that pushing updates via Galaxy is a quicker option and they're aiming to improve the way they work with GOG in the future.

No problem!

About Ion Fury, I find it odd that the 3.0 update isn't available from that 3D Realms download link that had the version updates (it was for those who bought the big box physicals and I think the digital version straight from them).
UNIVERSIM

https://www.gog.com/game/the_universim

It has no achievements or cloud save. It gets updates much later than the steam version.

The developers promised years ago that they would add achievements, cloud save, and gog galaxy integration.

In addition, the treatment by email to gog users is regrettable.

Neurus_Ex: Just in case you missed it. quake hasn't received the Enhanced update in over a month. They have promised to get it here, but still, no further word on when or how's that update arrive.
It even got a big update on Steam already and still radio silence here.

alkusin: Hello guys.

I'm deleting my Steam account this month,
Why?

avatar
alkusin: But there is an even worst scenario: GOG customer on Mac. I feel like a third class citizen :p

A lot of games which have a Mac version somewhere else (Steam, Mac App Store, Epic...) are only available for Windows on GOG. Why's that? Lazyness, indifference, rights...? I don't know, but it's really sad. I'm totally aware that I went the hard way by switching to macOS and choosing GOG as my main (and only) platform, but it shouldn't be THIS complicated. Yeah, first world problems, I agree.
There is a solution. Buy a PC for gaming and use your MAC for everything you need your MAC to do..

It hadn't been mentioned before that I can see, but The Last Express has a Gold Edition on Steam, and Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) has a remastered version with enhanced visuals, neither versions are available on GOG:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/312840/Fahrenheit_Indigo_Prophecy_Remastered/

Additionally, Interplay has added Mac & Linux versions to many of their games on Steam but not to GOG:
Conquest of the New World
Cyberia 2: Resurrection
Descent
Descent 2
Dragon Wars
Earthworm Jim
Earthworm Jim 2
Kingdom: The Far Reaches
Lost Eden
M.A.X.
Prehistorik
Prehistorik 2
Redneck Rampage Collection
Screamer
Screamer 2
Shattered Steel
Stonekeep
Subwar 2050

I'm just wondering ... is the GoogleDoc in the OP still being updated? It seems to miss quite a few entries.

Well, the remaster is a new game, not a patch, so it's worth mentioning, but does not qualify for this topic. It's better suited in a topic called "Developers/Publishers who don't give a f*** about GOG customers".

Because GOG sold such few copies compared to Steam, Interplay don't want to bother releasing other versions here?

It's currently not up-to-date. I'll try to update it as soon as I can but I'm currently buried in work which makes that a tad difficult. Only speaking for myself here that is, no idea about the other editors....
