I finally remembered to take down the old V2 spreadsheet. I have now already had four requests from random gmail accounts requesting access... Was the message that the list would no longer be updated not obvious enough before.

Heya, i almost requested access too just now so i can reply to this what the reason was in my case.

A lot of adult games aren't shown on the german store and i wouldn't be able to view the store page, so the addon does not help with these. I googled for your spreadsheet so i could look up a title and the first link was the v2 sheet, which now needs permissions to be viewed. I assume a couple others also just landed on that link through search engines.

Ah, gotcha. That makes sense. Thank you for explaining!
I see that "From Good to Great..." thread was not updated yesterday. Is the initiative winding down or is it just a standard "lack of communication from GOG" situation?

Well it is a first time that Falran's last post did not have "See you in 2 weeks" note at the end.
Tooth and tail finally received the latest Mac update but we are still missing a linux version

Huh, good point, didn't actually observe that the 2 weeks note was missing.

So basically - maybe there will be update, maybe not. GOG communication strikes again, I guess.

To be honest this whole big announced initiativie was imo more than disappointing in the first place. How many actul updates (no, I am not talking about additional paid DLC that we were missing) did we receice since it started? Is the list not big enough for GOG to figure out which update to tackle first? Typical GOG PR move unfortunately - again.

Bankai9212: Not really second class, alot of games on here don't include achievements because you can't port them over from steam. This thread for games that are outdated or missing key features achievements isn't part of that list.
Not completely true. It is in fact quite eaasy to port achievements from Steam to GOG with the SDK wrapper GOG created for this reason but yes, this the wrong thread.

Fair enough, after the first two updates or so, I was disappointed by the amount of "updates", like fixing missing links (which honestly does not feel like something that should take all that long to fix...) or adding dynamic bundles (which is good, but in this context?). I was expecting missing patches mostly. What I got was far less. Maybe I set expectations way too high in that regard.

I would not completely dismiss the effort yet. The initiative is only few months old. From what I read in this thread, lot of people here say, how hard it is to get in touch with some of the devs/publishers, and in some cases even harder to make them care *shruggs*

So far it affected two games in my library, so I still hope, we will see more of it sooner or later.

There is still "catch you in the usual thread" tease, though :P All hope is not lost yet :P

I think that's overly harsh. I didn't read this as a typical GOG PR move at all - it didn't get any marketing effort behind it (not even a news post), nor (from the looks of it) a lot of internal resources; just two support people who got permission to spend a percentage of their time chasing up missing content and report about it on the forum. And then the reality turned out to be that it's easier to convince developers to add missing DLC (which directly convert to extra money for them) than missing updates (which only give those developers nebulous goodwill, and probably are missing for actual reasons which would take a lot of effort to overcome).

I hope they'll continue working on this, but I can also understand if they themselves are disappointed by the comparative lack of results and no longer consider it worth celebrating in that thread. Though for all we know, maybe Falran is just on vacation this week, and things'll continue as before next week?

MarkoH01: You are not wrong - they basically brought this on themselves ... at least if the PC wasn't already out of order shortly after they updated Steam ;)

In any case I still do appreciate that they were honest and open about this. Don't want to excuse what they did but everybody deserves a second chance. Let's just hope that they will fix this the way they announced it.

Ganni1987: You're lucky to get a reply I guess, I sent them like 2 emails with several gentle reminders but received none.

Their message at least gives me hope that the game hasn't been abandoned here.

In other news

The Linux version of Mount and Blade - Warband including the DLC is outdated compared to the Windows one.

Windows is on par with Steam 2.072, Linux is 2.069 though.

Will try to email developer about it.
Good news, it was fixed September 3rd.

MMLN: I am not really sure, if this counts as a second class citizen's, as it is not offered on the Other storefront, but it is offered on the developer website.

Avernum 1 and Avernum 2 Hintbooks are not available on GOG, and it would be nice if Falran could talk with the developer about the possibility of them on GOG storefront as well.

EDIT: That would be also nice for for first two Avadon games.
Like, the hintbooks are included with a purchase on the developer website?

Nope, separate purchase for each hintbook.

edit: see pic ;)
