Lukin86: The new Skyrim patch released on Steam does not apply to GOG at all, as it concerns only the Creation Club and the Creation Kit, neither of which is available on GOG.

toma85: If we don't get the latest builds of Skyrim here then we can see what already happened with Fallout 4. The GOG build of Fallout 4 is regarded as abandoned and dead within the modding community.

"F4SE supports the latest version of Fallout available on Steam. MS Store/Gamepass/Epic/whatever else isn't supported. "

GOG isn't even mentioned anymore. It is "whatever". If you want to play future or updated mods then you need a current build. There is also Skyblivion. That's what one of the developers said about the recent Skyrim update:

"We have no plans to support any old versions of Skyrim. Whatever the current version is at any given time is what we will support/require."

GOG should put a download of Fallout 4 Version 1.10.163.0 under the extras. Then they should bring back Skyrim Version 1.6.659.0.8 as a download under the extras. Finally, both games need to get updated to the most recent builds.
To be fair its for the best, least we know the mods will work with those versions.

Is this really true or just hyperbole? The Creation Club stuff is maybe a problem but with F4SE installed (see below) many other mods should be fine with the GOG version. edit: UFO4P is an exception it seems.

"F4SE supports the latest version of Fallout available on Steam. MS Store/Gamepass/Epic/whatever else isn't supported. "
Not sure why the nexus page says that, however:

https://f4se.silverlock.org/ - "Compatibility: F4SE will support the latest version of Fallout available on Steam and GOG (currently not the same version)"

I don't have Fallout 4 on GOG so can't tell you which version will work but one will, if the Skyrim equivalent SKSE is the same (and pretty sure it is).

There's no point in them releasing the patch on GOG. They’ll just put out a patch that doesn't actually fix anything there. After all, as I said, we don't have the Creation Kit or the Creation Club store. They aren't going to release a patch for GOG that doesn't fix any bugs for skyrim.

That is the impression which I got from reading several comments. I changed the wording because it included my personal frustration. The GOG build is not supported anymore by several mods with their current builds, e.g. the developer of Community Fixes Merged wrote:

"CFM will not work on the GOG version until it receives the updated assets, which are mandatory for UFO4P (a hard dependency of all pre-4.1.0 CFM versions) to work. Please stop asking for support: it's out of my control, and making older versions more visible will accomplish nothing due to the dependency issue mentioned above."

You can find more examples like this.

We probably won't see a huge effect for Skyrim right now. You can simply ignore the update and use mods and their builds that worked before. You don't need to immediately update Skyrim and all mods as long as it works. However, it is already not a good sign that the GOG version was left behind with the memory leak for two years now. If they are also not updating Skyrim anymore then we will see a repeat of what happened to Fallout 4 in the future.

Yeah, I don't know as much about Fallout 4 mods except the ones that are common to Skyrim, but UFO4P seems to be a problem.

lupineshadow: Huniepop needs to be added to this list.

Steam's version has the working 64-bit Linux binaries. GOG's version is 32-bit which increasingly has become more and more broken over time as distributions moved to 64-bit, abandoning support for 32-bit libraries, and now Wayland seems to cause issues with sound and a softlock a considerable way into the game.

Do you have a source on the Steam version working on Linux? I could only find a lot of topics on Steam discussions that both Steam and Linux weren't working.

KetobaK: Blade of Darkness never recived the latest update, I tried to contact the publisher but SNEG doesn't have a page or a discord server, just different Twitter account for every release, hope Farlan is able to contact them and solve the problem. The latest update has several improvement to the game!
I'm a bit confused on this one as well, it's on the list as outdated since 2024. GOGDB shows no updates on gog ever. Was there a rerelease or something and now that version is also outdated?
avatar
LOSER107: Has the Sacred 2 Remaster been mentioned or addressed? It doesn't have multiplayer on GOG, but does on Steam. I did a search on the Google doc and this thread but saw no mention of it in neither. It also doesn't have multiplayer on Xbox even though the original still does. Seems they relied on Steam for any type of connection and shafted any other storefronts where the game can be purchased.

Let me know if this doesn't qualify for some reason, because I'm surprised my search didn't bring up anything about it. Thanks for all the efforts otherwise.
Added, do you own the remaster here? I'd need someone to confirm if we only have English as the store page says, missing several languages.
It also seems to be missing all updates from GOGDB, but I'm not entirely sure here.

This is the current version (vsub29b). It was last updated on 17th March 2023. It hasn't received the May 2024 update from Steam that added the option to switch camera and cleaned up the text of the Spanish version.

It's not to be confused with Severance: Blade of Darkness (the old GOG version), which was released and removed years ago (and currently exists as an extra to the new version).

Nyanko22: Corpse Party missed Japanese text, but Japanese text is available in the Steam release.
That's very odd, the store page says it should be in there, is there like an out of game exe or config to change languages? I should check whether we have Korean as Steam says it has it, but GOG does not.
Actually wait, which version of Corpse Party is this about?

I was on the entirely wrong gogdb page somehow, thank you!
Will try to find some time for another update this week if ER doesn't get there first.

Apart from my post: https://www.gog.com/forum/huniepop/no_audio_and_softlock_after_bedroom_puzzle/post2 ... I'm not sure what you are asking for - posts where people report no problems? There are lots of posts where people report using the Linux version when discussing where to find save games or where to apply patches, e.g. https://steamcommunity.com/app/339800/discussions/0/616199736993503308/?ctp=5#c611698195165063428

Steam has 32-bit binaries and 64-bit binaries for Linux available: https://steamdb.info/app/339800/depots/

The GOG linux offline installer only has the 32-bit binaries.
Comment so I remember later someone sent in an odd way:
Stoneshard, the game on steam has 3 DLC: 1 Free and 2 Paid Supporter Editions. Last supporter edition is missing on GoG, and the devs know about it just dont care or at least is the response i got the third time i asked for the dlc
Asdivine Knot - Came out a minute ago. Straight to the 2nd class list it goes:
• Missing game DLC: Experience x3 - Asdivine Knot
• Missing game DLC: SP x3 - Asdivine Knot
• Missing game DLC: Experience & SP x2 - Asdivine Knot
• Missing game DLC: Damage x2 - Asdivine Knot

Feed the Scorchpot:
• Missing extras DLC: Feed the Scorchpot - OST

Dwarf Delve:
• Missing extras DLC: Dwarf Delve Soundtrack

===================================================================================================

Also, I am very confused by The Immortal John Triptych.
on GOG it's a standalone game... but on Steam it's not...?
We have:
The Immortal John Triptych Soundtrack (GOG)

and so does Steam:
The Immortal John Triptych - Soundtrack (Steam)

But Steam also has:
The Immortal John Triptych: Weird Extra Content Art Gallery DLC Thingy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Included Content:

• 4 Deleted Scenes - Lost to time, forgotten, or simply crafted out of nothingness, profound silliness is at the forefront
• A scene behind bars where confinement breeds conversation
• A mountain climbing expedition that reaches new heights
• A preoccupied pack of “thespians” more interested in narcissistic toadyism than really anything else - WITH COMMENTARY!
• "Art-O-Vision" - Hover over artistic masterpieces and discover the exact Renaissance paintings they originated from and how Joe manipulated them into even GRANDER pieces of work

So do we have this Art Gallery DLC Thingy on GOG or not?

I do not own it on any storefront, so sadly can't help with any possible version differences. I went to the game's forum page and found this post from a gog team member saying languages have been added. I also found this post regarding an updated installer, but I do not know if that matches the game version steam is on.

Was glancing at the list for other reasons, and noticed Volgar the Viking II was on it, but the very forum thread linked in the source column says that is has been fixed. So it should be removed from the list.

Edit: Oh, and Towerful Defense definitely contains the content from "The First Expansion" free dlc. So that part can be removed.

Edit 2: Seems like Quartet is missing more updates than just what the list mentions. The devs have responded to requests for GOG updates on the steam forums in the past. Maybe someone should ask there. (I would do it but I don't actually own the game [though it is on my wishlist] so I wouldn't feel right bugging the devs about it.)
