bcknee: Emailed warhorse about the update and got this response...

Hello XXXXX,
thank you very much for your email. Unfortunately, we do not have plans for the release of the 1.9.7 patch on GoG.
However, there is a work around for all PC versions of the infinite loading screen bug:
(had to remove link to youtube video to post)
If you encounter this bug on GoG, install this mod: (removed link)
when it gets to the infinite loading screen, open the console with ~ and type "cheat_save" and press Enter. It should print a message that the game was saved. Restart the game and load the latest save. It should put you right after the buggy cutscene.

''install this mod'' instead of launch an update ??? whaat..
Yup, it's weird because KCD2 has a similar reward system but the GOG release just trimmed that out (you can get the items with console commands anyway) so I don't see any reason why they can't do that again

Well, unless a fucking Deep silver account integration is simply non-negotiable, in that case what a silly hill to die on

In reality, refusing to release the patch on GOG could be considered a violation of this EU directive, since the bugs they fix are also available on GOG.

yakuza kiwami 1 and 2.
fallout 4

Maybe someone should tell them that we are not asking but demanding because they already have our money?
Another dev on my blacklist.

I emailed them as well and got a similar response from the same guy. Good thing I didn't buy the second game. I didn't stop at their response, instead I replied to it.

ERBlank: List Updated. (...)
Hello ERBlank!

Thank you for including "Dreamed Away" in the list! However, the corresponding entry in the spreadsheet is incomplete and missing the issue on the update / patch situation.

See my respective post (number 5595) in this thread here and my initial post (number 617) in the what did just update thread.

The Windows and Linux offline installer files are still two updates behind (the later one is already two month ago), while (only) the Mac offline installer package got the later 1.3.0 update more than a month ago.

Kind regards,
foxgog

PS: The game is finishale in the current 1.10 Windows version, but I did encounter a couple of minor bugs (nothing game breaking, though).
More importantly, the missing update(s) include balancing adjustments and a "streamlining" of a very stretched out chapter in the original game--impacting repeated playthroughs of the game in order to find the alternative endings.
Do devs and publishers hate GOG because GOG is nothing and worthless compared to Steam?
Anyone who cares should email Warhorse about the KCD patch. They took our money, we should make them know that it isn't cool to treat us like shit. Put some pressure on GOG, too. We see that works with the AI art backlash.
The info for The Penumbra Collection is totally incorrect. Game doesn't use the Unity engine and hasn't been patched for years anywhere.

Considering that this patch includes a Deep Silver account I rather belief that this was the decision of the publisher.
On Steam the special horse and other rewards will be requiring a Deep Silver account; on GOG there are comparable games but it is not enjoyable (causing bad ratings). On Steam it usually works fine, as they are used to DRM.

They could still provide bug fixing for the GOG version, yet i assume it is as well "a reward" for "DRM supporters", i assume.

Both of these were colossal oversights by me. For "Dreamed Away" I forgot to write the entry entirely, for "The Penumbra Collection" I erroneously wrote to it an entry that was intended for the game above. Corrected everything, thanks a lot!

Sorry, I think I've seen Fallout mentioned repeatedly as a game that some consider outdated, others don't. Can you confirm for sure that Fallout 4 is outdated?

Fallout 4 has not seen a single patch ever since its release here (2023). Meanwhile, the game has received a bunch of updates on Steam, with the earliest being released in April 2024 and the latest in December 2025.

Technically f4 is outdated yes.
But we have here most stable version.

On steam f4 recieved 'next gen' & 'anniversary' patches with paid mods DLC (like skyrim).
But those patches broke many many things so if you ask me - better have current version than 'updated'.
