MarkoH01: I want to add that my last mail was quite pushing and accusating so I can understand that they tried to explain to me that there's no need to be that worried about this specific update. I also do understand what you are saying since yes - apparently Steam comes first ... however they also mention technical difficulties they have AND they are announcing that the update still will come. I prefer the silver lining here ... they DID reply and they confirmed that GOG is not forgotten. We have some other devs that don't even care to reply at all so I still consider this progress.
That's fair. But pushing messages from us or not, this would have been easier if they told us in advance "we're having serious issues with GOG, we did not forget about you but we really have a lot to do before we get back to you". Something that I don't think I ever seen from a developer. Even those who come to us to apologise only do so after the "damage" is done, after a long time of us trying to reach them out.

Even developers and publishers who are acting in good faith should remember that: 1 Gamers are first and foremost customers who pay with their own money, they're not friends that are asking for favours. By definition they can't expect from from a customer the same patience they'd expect from anyone else. 2 There's large amount of developers and publishers who genuinely made a business out of scamming their customers with half-assed games, so they can't be surprised that many gamers now are prejudiced and leash out at the smallest thing they find suspicious.

I don't know what you consider "a few days". It's already been 26 days since the steam update. If there was a game that had not been updated for 26 days (or even 16 days), I would want to know about it, so I could avoid buying it, as it shows that the developers or publishers are treating us as second class citizens. But other people might be fine with not knowing until it's much later. It's your spreadsheet, your rules.

I misunderstood your "List Updated" to mean "List Updated up to the preceding post". What does "List Updated" actually mean? Do you keep a list of games that have been reported but you have decided not to add to the spreadsheet just yet? Could you perhaps add a link to that list?

Still, it's sad when the only contribution a person bothers to make in this thread in more than 3.5 months is to belittle others.
The Pale Beyond needs to be on the list. It has received 4 updates since August 2023 on S*eam, one of them being an important fix for the Unity Security Issue.

ERBlank: I will actually post the translation myself because this is a disgrace of a reply and I want everyone to understand it right away.
I don't know what is the "scene" ie. why did they feel someone was making a big ruckus about it, but otherwise I feel their reply was ok-ish. Not very professional where you just thank for the message and promise to look into it (and then do nothing about it), but at least they explained that the update was not that critical or didn't include any new content, and explained they have some issue with the GOG update process.

Much better than some others which have been openly hostile towards GOG users or GOG in general, and/or simply saying they will not do anything about the GOG version.

So, any idea what was fixed/changed in the missing update?

Well, the "joker" has told numerous times he is not buying games (at least on GOG) anymore, and apparently haven't done so for a long time.

So I don't think this is affecting him at all so he doesn't need to "cope" with anything, Maybe he just likes to play a little devil's advocate and a troll, dunno.

It's these fixes i think:
Hotfix 1.2.4-4
There was still another hotfix with a collection of small fixes in the pipeline and what would be a better opportunity for its release than now?
Fixed a rare crash in the options menu (hopefully! we never got it ourselves)

Various Typos that somehow survived this long.

A bunch of minor mapping mistakes, including one hidden soft-lock hole.

The game is very much playable without issues as i finished Crosscode and it's DLC a New home.
Very good game but the puzzles tend to be on the hard side.
this is the first time they didn't update the game with a final update.
Wonder what specific gog problem they have now.

I think a similar small fix that may be more important was never delivered from Don't Starve game for some reason and is way much longer in time that is still missing an update

That's exactly the reason why I was so disappointed and thought that they actually forgot completely about GOG ... especially when they did not reply to my multiple tries to contact them and those of others as well. Now they replied and I am hopeful that the update (minor as it is) will arrive on GOG as well.
If some hotfix is so "minor" that GOG customers should be happy playing an old build instead, why is it released on Steam in the first place? Should Steam customers not be happy with an old build too?

That’s bullshit from this studio, they’re only doing that because they know GOG is never going to put pressure on them for lack of updates parity.

I had already written a message before the "List Updated" post where I said I would have waited a few more days (post 5586), it's not a decision that I took without saying. Though I guess it would have been better to write "List updated but I'm still waiting on StarVaders" because it's easy to lose track with everything that is said in here.

I don't have a separate list for that. If I think it's too early to add a game, I just say that upfront in here, and everyone's free to contradict or agree with me afterwards. In any case, I'll add StarVaders at this point, you're right, we're waiting too much.

The worst part: I think that at the end of every game development, (almost?) all GOG games will remain one step behind the versions available in "the bigger store". It's a trend I've already noticed.

The motivations seem very obvious to me.
Day of the Shell is still missing patch 1.1.12, released on DRMed stores on Dec 9th.
As it is a fix that solves an issue that could force the user to choose betwenn staying stuck in the same level forever or resetting game progress, it is not just a minor patch that could be skipped.

That's fine. Thank you. I just have one question:
If I report an issue and you decide to wait a while, do I need to report it again after some time or will you remember by yourself to add it eventually?

So far I never forgot such things, even after a month. But you're always free to send a reminder if you suspect I forgot or that I'm wrong for waiting to begin with.

Just a reminder, I don't intend to "own" the list. I'm the one taking care of it for this period, but this is a collaborative effort. I've been adding even games whose developers I respect, I've been adding even issues that I don't personally care about (like certain online functionalities). This policy of "I won't add a game right away because I don't think the devs have abandoned it yet" is the only liberty I allow myself, and even there, I don't always do that. For example, when devs promise to patch their games but too much time has passed already, I still keep the game on the list with an added entry that the devs promised to take care of that.
Dark Quest (the first one) got a Remastered update on February 7th. Looks like we don't have this update here on GOG yet.
