coates32: That's not always the case. Microsoft owns Double Fine and Psychonauts 2 came out here just fine with no delays.
avatar
SargonAelther: Psychonauts 2 is an example of how we won't get anything new from Microsoft, not the opposite. Double Fine made promises to release on GOG before the Microsoft acquisition and now it remains as the one and only Xbox Game Studios game on GOG.

avatar
P-E-S: Well, Bethesda released Skyrim here a good while after they were gobbled up by Microsoft, so anything can happen I guess.
avatar
SargonAelther: Microsoft is not touching many already published games, but they block all the new ones. We may still get Fallout 4 and a few Dooms, but we will not get Starfield, or Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5. Probably not even in 10 years from now.

We have Obsidian games on GOG, but not Pentiment or Grounded, which were published by Xbox Game Studios. We have Remedy games on GOG, but not Quantum Break, which was published by Xbox Game Studios.
We also do not have any classics. We have no Halo, we have no Fable, we have no Gears of War, we have no Forza, etc. We have NOTHING! Microsoft is one of the largest DRM-Lovers out there. They're opposed to everything GOG stands for.

Remember, Microsoft is a bad guy, trying to pretend to be good. They will not yank existing games from PlayStation or block some existing legacy Bethesda titles from coming to GOG. They will block new ones though. It's funny how they keep promising COD for PlayStation for 10 years, but say nothing about Bethesda, Obsidian or any other studio's games.

So again, just because we have the original Hellblade, does not mean that a sequel is guaranteed. There's a whole thread dedicated to abandoned series on GOG.

I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong, but I don't think that I will.
Back when MS brought up Obsidian, Ninja Theory and InXile I emailed them asking what it meant for GOG

We're excited about the news and we're continuing to develop all of our games with no changes, so no worries, we're still planning to support GOG.
Obsidian

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about where our games are released. While we can't make any mentions or promises of where our games will drop, I can at least assure that our leadership teams will always advocate for releasing on as many platforms as possible so more players can enjoy them. Whether or not Xbox will listen to or allow that is something else, but we hope to continue releasing where we can when we are allowed to
I'm sure 1 of the three said via twitter that they retain autonomy for such decision, but can't find that now.

But, yes, for me Hellblade 2 is the Litmus test for that as its an AAA rated and hugely anticipated game

Well Obsidian certainly seem to have lost control. We'll see about InXile.

Never trust Microsoft! Keep that in mind, folks.

The game "Toy Tactics" should be released on GOG once the early access is over.

Cool. Interested in this one.
I don't know if this has been said. But I just got the confirmation from a member of the studio "Madmind" that the game "Agony: Lord of Hell" will be released on GOG at the same time as steam.

ame that I advise against buying. Given the liabilities with succubus that they don't even keep gog up to date and don't even release the dlc too.

I second that.

I mean, go ahead and buy the game, but you'll have to wait months for updates, if the devs feel like it.
As Lukin86 said, the gog build of Succubus has seemingly been abandoned by the devs, it's missing updates and the last DLC.
I also suggest not to support Madmind any further. The Succubus DLC Red Queen missing on GOG is one part. They also released the non updated version of Agony (normal version) here on GOG even though at the time of release it already had multiple updates which never came to GOG. The actual version of the normal Agony is basically unplayable. I have been ignored multiple times on their discord and they even ignored GOG when I forwarded the issue to them directly.

What about the Unrated version? Is it up to date? I was planning to play it in the near future.

Yes. The unrated version is up to date and perfecttly playable. Don't even bother to play the original version though - not long into the game the lighning will be so bad that you won't be able to see a thing and you will simply die because you can't see where you are going. It was one of the first things they fixed after the game has been released elsewhere but they never bothered to correct the fact that they submtted an old version on GOG.

I haven't found any quote about this game here yet.
So I just got a reply from DORFteam. They plan to release their game on GOG too.

Nice, that has a strong C&C vibe in it. Thank you for sharing.

There are two minor issues with Agony Unrated:
1) It's missing 8 achievements.
2) it does not show up on user profile, so even if you reach 100%, it will not show up on your profile. Only censored agony shows up.

I may create a ticket for the 2nd issue, I find it rather annoying.
