Memecchi: The usual GOG omission is nothing worth scrutinizing, chances are high it will come here because NISA is behind it, that's as far as we can guess
SargonAelther: It is worth scrutinising because we used to ALWAYS get announcements on the same day as Steam for Falcom games. The only one left is
https://www.gog.com/game/the_legend_of_heroes_trails_beyond_the_horizon RPGFanboy: To be honest I trust RPGSite more than "mainstream" sites. They probably got a press kit with info. If you listen to their podcast they are VERY knowledgeable and know what they are talking about.
SargonAelther: You shouldn't trust anyone that doesn't provide a source. None of their quotes mention GOG.
GOG staff said they did not know anything about this game when last asked on Discord. NISA staff actively ignore all questions about Proud Nordics on GOG on the NISA server, yet prompty respond to other issues raised.
SargonAelther: Okay. Some shared my concern. Others did not. And we've learned nothing from it.
People are eager to blame GungHo, but we have Falcom games here from a variety of publishers. XSEED, NISA, Refint, Mastiff, Aksys. Aksys has published NOTHING on GOG EXCEPT a Falcom game.
That heavily implies that Falcom was calling the shots regarding platforms, not the publishers. And now there's ambiguity with Proud Nordics too.
We should start begging for a GOG version before we miss out on all the launch FOMO that they will refuse to grant us upon a delayed release, if we even get that. Sadly GOG threw a wrench in the cogs by marking a bunch of unrelated games as published on the Dreamlist...
[Update01] Proud Nordics Dreamlist page has been unmarked.
Please vote. Oh, crap. We might really not get this game. This is one of those "buy the base on GOG for $100 but you'll have to buy the updated version on Steam for another $100 if you want everything" kinda deals. This is as bad as Microtransactions.
