Sweet. A NIS title is finally coming to GOG. Hopefully the Disgaea games will come here soon.

We have loads of NIS America games, is this different?

Sorry I goofed. I thought this was a game made by NIS (Japan), but I was wrong on closer inspection. It is true that there are a decent number of NIS America titles on GOG, but none from NIS, the developer.

I hope Demonstar shows up too, Scott said he'd bring it a while ago but no dice.

Yeah, and what's RPGSite's source? None of them ever cite a source or cite each other. We used to get GOG pages at the same time as Steam, but Steam's had it for months, while we've had nothing.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3949290/Ys_X_Proud_Nordics/

I fear Horizon will be the last game we get from Falcom.

In fact, look at the actual article:
"The base version of Ys X is currently available in the West on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). You can find all our Ys X: Nordics coverage, including Adam's review, my platform comparisons, and more here.

Ys X: Proud Nordics launches on February 20, 2026 for the West on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam, GOG, Epic). It launches on February 19, 2026 in Japan on PS5."
The author says that the original game is just on Steam, while the updated one will come to GOG and Epic.

He probably made a mistake and inverted the platforms. The OLD one is available on all 3 stores. The new one is Steam only.

No one believed me about the Trails remake and look where we are now. I would ask you to vote for the Proud Nordics Dreamlist page, but someone at GOG confused it with regular Nordics and marked it as released.... Siiiiiigh. Gonna have to go nag them about it now.

The usual GOG omission is nothing worth scrutinizing, chances are high it will come here because NISA is behind it, that's as far as we can guess
NISA still haven't added PS5 to the list of platforms on https://www.nisamerica.com/ys-x-proud-nordics/ so goodness knows what's up with their comms for that game.

(https://www.nisamerica.com/games/ys-x does list PS5; they've just forgotten they have multiple pages.)

Comparing the announcement videos for the original Ys X and PN, the Ys X announcement has a 'PC game' logo and the PN ones have that plus a Steam logo; one could interpret that either way.

No one at all? I don't get that impression from https://www.gog.com/forum/the_legend_of_heroes_trails_in_the_sky_series/trails_in_the_sky_fc_remake
To be honest I trust RPGSite more than "mainstream" sites. They probably got a press kit with info. If you listen to their podcast they are VERY knowledgeable and know what they are talking about.

We'll find out soon enough. I think the Sky remake was a one-off because of the publisher. I honestly hope they don't take over as they sounds like they butchered some of the localization (I still need to catch up so I did not even try to play it). I'm sure they will publish Sky 2-3 but hopefully NISA will do the next games after Calvard.

It is worth scrutinising because we used to ALWAYS get announcements on the same day as Steam for Falcom games. The only one left is https://www.gog.com/game/the_legend_of_heroes_trails_beyond_the_horizon

You shouldn't trust anyone that doesn't provide a source. None of their quotes mention GOG.
GOG staff said they did not know anything about this game when last asked on Discord. NISA staff actively ignore all questions about Proud Nordics on GOG on the NISA server, yet prompty respond to other issues raised.

Okay. Some shared my concern. Others did not. And we've learned nothing from it.

People are eager to blame GungHo, but we have Falcom games here from a variety of publishers. XSEED, NISA, Refint, Mastiff, Aksys. Aksys has published NOTHING on GOG EXCEPT a Falcom game.
That heavily implies that Falcom was calling the shots regarding platforms, not the publishers. And now there's ambiguity with Proud Nordics too.

We should start begging for a GOG version before we miss out on all the launch FOMO that they will refuse to grant us upon a delayed release, if we even get that. Sadly GOG threw a wrench in the cogs by marking a bunch of unrelated games as published on the Dreamlist...

Oh, crap. We might really not get this game. This is one of those "buy the base on GOG for $100 but you'll have to buy the updated version on Steam for another $100 if you want everything" kinda deals. This is as bad as Microtransactions.
