tfishell: This could be something.

I asked Enric Alvarez if American McGee's Scrapland could come to GOG.

Me: "Any chance http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/american_mcgees_scrapland could come to @GOGcom ? :)"

Enric: "Could be ;)"

I really want to play the first Alice, you can't even buy it on Origin. :'(

I own the retail version but I like to have it here on GOG too.
Memory may be wrong, but I seem to remember the original Alice being the passport content for the sequel when it launched. When EA abandoned Passport codes it made all passport content available for free for everyone. Last I checked (not recently) most passport content for passport games was still available, and still free.

So, technically, you can buy American McGee's Alice on Origin. You just have to buy it with Alice: Madness Returns. Picked it up a few years ago for a fiver. Like all my other Origin games, still haven't played it >.>

I'd be soo tempted to buy it again if it popped up here. I can't really tell you why, but I don't really care too much about my Origin or Steam collections. They are just an ends to a means. But my GoG collection? That is important to me. Even if it means re-purchasing I'd still rather have a game on GOG than any other service.

Some news on war for the overworld. I've asked them on KS if and when they were going to go drm-free and this is their answer :

We will be releasing the DRM-Free version of WFTO in the months following release when we have enough time to decouple everything from Steamworks :)

Don't worry we've not forgotten about it.

Not that happy, that,as usual, drm-free backers are second class citizens, but, at least that's something...
Men of War showed up in the Twitch schedule, so I guess that's coming out sometime next week:

Hope the bring more than the first part which is currently the only one available DRM-free elsewhere.

Includes AMR and a copy of Alice that works on modern computers with controller support
Then use this:

Nevermind I guess, I'm not rebuying the game.
Thank you for the effort though. :)

Not unexpected unfortunately. Remember Banners Saga? yeah.. took month or two to remove steamworks under the guise of *technical issues*
XSEED Releasing Ys VI The Ark of Napishtim to Steam, GOG, and Humble Store

I wasn't aware of that, I was naively expecting the DRM-free version to appear at release date :-(

Oh well won't be the first time I will have to play the "unofficial" release of a game I backed while waiting for the promised DRM-free version to be finally released.

The most annoying thing about all this is that as much I don't mind saying bad things about Steam, if there is something on which I cannot fault them it is the Steamwork integration, it's non-intrusive and easy to remove, so I really fail to see how it could take "months" to "decouple" the game from Steam.

IMHO it's more a case "We don't want to bother supporting two version at launch" rather than any technical "difficulty".
VERY surprised by this announcement. This was the one Y's game that I thought wouldn't see a PC release....at least, not so soon. Those sneaky snakes at XSEED have been working on this in secret for some time if they're anticipating a release in the next couple of months. Very pleased to see GOG's name on their press release, too. I hope this means XSEED has been happy with their time here.

I guess the other Ys sold well enough here that they thought

"Hmm, GOG may be a viable market."
