Great news! I really liked GreedFall - closest thing to an old-style BioWare RPG in years.

Next year Amanita Design will return with "a hand-crafted adventure game" Phonopolis. Knowing their history with GOG there is a good chance we will see it here.

Hopefully that means it actually has passed GOG curation, but they only seem to be offering Steam keys in the reward tiers...

Some news for visual novel fans:

Following up from this old post, VN publisher NekoNyan Soft is going to release all of their Yuzu Soft titles next week (Sabbat of the Witch, Senren Banka, Riddle Joker, Cafe Stella and the Reapers' Butterflies). The titles will have their 18+ patches available. This was all confirmed during their panel at ACEN.

And another follow up! Parquet (a VN without 18+ content, also by Yuzu Soft) "will launch at a later date!"

Simon the Sorcerer Origins was announced. Leonardo Interactive will publish it so it may end up here.

I don't think I've played any VN games. Are they all just porn? What is an "all-ages" VN?

Not all VN's are porn. An "all-ages" VN is just a VN that isn't porn. We even have some "all-ages" VNs on GOG, such as Just Desserts, Date a Live: Rio Reincarnation, Hakuoki, and SoniComi. A more popular example that isn't on GOG would be Danganronpa (while I'm not a fan of the genre, I would love if that series came to GOG).

As coates32 already explained, not all VNs are 'just porn'. Sorry about the use of 'all-ages' - it's probably more accurate to say 'without 18+ content'. I'll fix my post.

And to answer your other question:
All VNs are on a sliding scale from "no erotic content" to "every other scene is an erotic scene". Many titles that originally had erotic content also make a version with the content stripped out too (therefore making it 'all-ages' through self-censorship). Some people are uncomfortable playing these censored versions, but to each their own.

Good starter VNs without 18+ content on GOG are:
- Higurashi When They Cry (slice of life and horror mystery. First chapter is free!)
- The House in Fata Morgana (drama mystery)
- Corpse Party series (horror. RPG-VN hybrids. Start with "Corpse Party (2021)" or the original "Corpse Party")
- VA-11 HALL-A (cyberpunk slice of life with some drama, has bartending gameplay)
- eden* (sci fi drama)
- Da Capo III R (lighthearted slice of life/romance with some mystery)

There are a lot more, including some JRPG-VN hybrids, both on GOG and off, but I'd say one of the above is a good place to start.

"Knights of Messiah" from Kagura Games already has a directly labeled GOG version of the adult patch. So this release should come in the next few days here, too.

As an update, there's been some recent movement around "Mafia: Definitive Edition", which might be a sign of an impending release. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

P.S.: Looks like there's an entry for Pronty there as well, in the deep GOG ocean. Not sure if there were any hints it was coming to GOG, but this more or less settles it.

Those games are certainly not "completely without erotic content." They definitely have some stuff that would qualify as that (I'm not saying they are AO type games, though, which they aren't).
