RaggieRags: Here is something from the Ghostlight blog:

In other news, those of you who prefer GOG to Steam will be pleased to know that we’re working towards bringing several of our PC releases to GOG. In fact I’ve already spent some time looking at GOG builds for a couple of them – no prizes for guessing which games :) So far these builds seem fairly solid, but there’s still a little way to go before we’ll be able to give you a time frame for our GOG debut.

Ghostlight's PC lineup is the Agarest series (Japanese strategy RPGs, not very well received), OMG Zombies! and most importantly Elminage Gothic, a recent Wizardry clone that from what I've heard is actually good. Can't wait.
I think this happens to be the jrpgs that they were hinting at on twitter shortly after Trails got released. It is great news to say the least. Still cannot help but feel extremely disappointed that XSEED still hasn't published the Ys games here though... especially after the drm-free Ys Origins.

IAmSinistar: Great, thanks! I too would like to see Elminage Gothic turn up on GOG.
me too, though I already got it on Steam I would happily re-acquire it on GOG and then not touch the steam version again.

Xseed can only do what Falcom allows them to do.Since Falcom still owns the rights to Ys and to be honest Japanese devs are reluctant to let go when it comes to DRM. If anything with Ys Origins going on Humble and the release of Trails in the sky 1 here on GOG it seems Xseed at the very least managed to get Falcom to allow them to test the waters, wither or not it pays off depends.

Real nice, thanks for that news!

tfishell: And I think we can expect one of the Gex games tomorrow. :)
avatar
IAmSinistar: Hopefully the first one. I loved that game on the 3DO. Basically that and Total Eclipse were about the only 3DO titles worth remembering. :)
What about Return Fire?
Excellent title!

ps: forgot about The Horde! Great game, specially the 3DO/Saturn versions.

I don't believe I played Return Fire on the 3DO. But yes, The Horde was fun too. :)

Humm, the pc version of The Horde was done by Crystal Dynamics. Gex was released, 3DO "hints", HUMM, suspicious! :)

I wouldn't be surprised to see it come here, unless the PC version was released for an old version of Windows only. Those are problematic.

EDIT: Nope, according to Mobygames it was DOS, so should be in the clear in that regard.

Sorry to piss in your pool, but The Horde was only published by Crystal Dynamics. It actually was developed by Toys For Bob, so the rights might actually be a little muddy.

Thanks for the info, guys.
Toys for Bob developed Pandemonium. Let's not forget that! :)
Just FYI, I messaged the nGlide guy Zeus asking if Gex 2 worked with most computers he knew of, and the response was, "Yes, Gex2 is fine." So I'd imagine that does show up within the next month or so. (unless GOG holds off to let the new publisher "shine")

No worries, I was already aware of CD's involvement on this title. I still believe it's a likely candidate, and possibly CD holds a controlling interest over it still.

Speaking of which, where is the promised countdown clock?

IAmSinistar: Speaking of which, where is the promised countdown clock?
I assume Destro(?) meant the countdown clock wouldn't be 30 days, but they would use one. I assume it'd be like System Shock 2 which was ... what, 12-24 hours before release? I don't remember exactly.

I'm still hoping for a very special release on the 30th...

Ah, I had assumed that the countdown would occur some time within 30 days of their announcement, and that it would cover a longer time period. I guess they can drop one on the site on the 29th or 30th if the release is on the last day of the month then.
Trent Oster says that Icewind Dale EE will launch on October 30th.
