I must admit, I will be very much surprised if that happens. It would pretty much be the first time that a non-indie title (aside from
The Witcher games) appeared on GOG so shortly after its release.
The more cynical interpretation of such an occurrence would be that Thief 2014 sold so poorly that Square Enix is willing to sell it even DRM-free just to squeeze out some more cash from it. But it still wouldn't change the fact that a major release showed up on GOG only a year or so after its original release; regardless of what one thinks of the game itself, that would be an enormous step for GOG.
Of course, there's not much point in discussing the implications of something that hasn't actually happened. But all I'm saying is that, if it did, it would be kind of a big deal.
