Smannesman: This looks like a job for direct IP connections and/or freely available dedicated server software!
IAmSinistar: No reason we can't have all the above. Parties willing, of course. Was TQ dependent or could you already use direct IP?
I already played it for about 100 hours in co-op with a friend decades ago.

Agreed. Was mostly thinking it would make another nice release title for Galaxy. I would think direct IP play would be supported, or at least easy to add. I've got the game from GG but never tried it in multiplayer mode.

I hope this appearance of a Falcom/XSEED game means we might see the Y's games here eventually?Source

Trails In the Sky? Here on GOG (as well as XSEED...maybe)? I'm game (even though I've never played it, but looking at it I'm kind of curious about it). How is it overall?

Trying to join a game through the "Internet" option just results in "Internet service unavailable.", so that mode was probably dependent on GameSpy.
The game has a LAN option which might work through Hamachi.
It's also supported by GameRanger, haven't tried TQ with it though.

Well that sucks, not that I was going to play it again any time soon but I hate having to go through VPNs. The game has a LAN option which might work through Hamachi.

Majesty 2 interestingly enough gives you a "Multiplayer for this title is no longer available" or something like that when you try it.

I must admit, I was not expecting this kind of news. I'm very happy about this and I look forward to the release. Hopefully, the Ys games won't be far behind. Source
It's been confirmed for a while that the Ys games would come here, but this is a nice reminder that those plans haven't been abandoned.

Well, those games were all on sale on Steam a couple of weeks and I skipped over them because I thought, "No, they might show up on GOG eventually." I just hope it's sooner rather than later :)

Very positive news from Xseed! Just hope that means that the planned releases of the Ys games on gog happens sooner than later. Also wouldn't mind some of Falcoms other pc titles... maybe we will also see some other Xseed published titles, such as Killer is Dead. However, that might be a long shot.

Whoohoo!!!
On the surface, it's a rather standard JRPG with turn-based position-based combat and cutesy characters. Once you start digging deeper, though, you'll find that the game features some of the best world-building ever. It's a living, breathing world where every NPC in every town has a name and a personality. The dialogue changes after every major story-event and quite a few NPC's have their own miniature plots going on as you go through the chapter.
The characters are kind of cliché at first, but they quickly grow on you.
It's kind of slow paced at first. In a way, it's a gigantic prologue for the second game. The story takes some time to get going, but starts picking up around the end of the second chapter and goes into overdrive in the final chapter.
If you like instant gratification, this game will probably come across as a way-too-wordy snoozefest. (there aren't many large dungeon and it's not unusual to spend 30 minutes reading dialogues) If you take the time to talk to every NPC, check out every treasure chest twice, do every sidequest (there are tons of them) and immerse yourself into the game world, this game is probably one of the best eastern RPG's you'll ever play despite its primitive visuals. Oh...and you'll be crying yourself to sleep every night until the sequel is released. Yeah, it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger.

It depends on what you like in a game. First of all, this game and its sequel (which is scheduled to come out later this year) were originally meant to be part of the same game, but the script size grew so huge they either had to split the game into two parts or scrap half the content. They chose the former. On the surface, it's a rather standard JRPG with turn-based position-based combat and cutesy characters. AWESOME :D Source
That will be the first, TRUE, JRPG on GOG :D
Hopefully it's a sign that more are coming. XSEED has a lot of games that I'd buy in a heart beat here, even if I own it already on console :)
Seeing Killer is Dead is also on PC, that would be cool to see here, as well as maybe Corpse Party, Ys titles, and so on.
