Me: "Is there any chance of #140 coming to @GOGcom? (gog.com/indie)"

Jeppe Carlsen (of LIMBO fame): "I hope so! I reached out to them recently with no luck. Will give it another shot! Cheers!"

I remember reading that GOG passed up on Hovertank for some reason. This was a game made by the devs of id Software and it's a classic! I hope GOG will reconsider.
Why Cook, Serve, Delicious, Wings of Vi, Thomas Was Alone and the Dragon's Lair / Space Ace games were denied is beyond me. Especially with non-games or games with little interaction are on the service, like Gone Home and To The Moon. I liked those games, and don't really care for Dragon's Lair, but c'mon GOG.
I'm also curious if JumpJet Rex, another really good platformer, is in the same boat.

Granted, the game's gotten a DRM-free release on Humble Store, so it's omission isn't as glaring as something like Wings of Vi or Super House of Dead Ninjas, but still...

I dunno. It just seems weird that GOG will publish some super-obscure, oftentimes crappy strategy or adventure games, but won't give other genres, like platformers, the time of day.

I got a response from Support about Braid, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to share it here:
Hello,
I'm afraid that I can't comment on any upcoming deals and releases (or lack thereof). I can only assure you that we're doing everything possible to get our hands on the best content possible.

Unfortunately the process can be very complicated. There are many variables to take into account when trying to secure distribution rights from a publisher or developer, and it's not always possible to come to a compromise that satisfies all . This is especially true for GOG, as we want to uphold our core values (like no copy protection, or fair pricing), which do not always fit well into how the industry generally works. It gets even more complex with old content, esepecially games, whose rights are often in a state of “legal limbo”.

Check out this Q/A video, featuring one of my superiors - Marcin Iwinski, for a first-hand view of how it works:

Also, I strongly suggest checking out Community Wishlist - while this won't make us get rights for these titles all of a sudden, every vote counts! :)

Finally, please stay tuned and check out our news page every week for new release info.

I got the exact same message in response to my message to them about Cloudbuilt, so I think it's safe to say that, understandably, this is all Support is allowed to tell us in response to any game suggestions or questions about game releases.

To be fair, GOG was bringing over a lot of absolute crap. A bad platformer doesn't really sate one's needs for platformers.

That's a shame. I really enjoyed my time with Wizorb on Steam. Cast my vote for that one ages ago.
Before the Echo was rejected, and apparently any follow-ups were met with "yeah we're slammed right now". It's a really cool rhythm RPG, and I think it deserves to be here.

Definitely. Great game. Would love to have it here. Seems surprising (although based on the premise of this thread it shouldn't be) that GOG passed on it considering there's nothing quite like if in the catalog, but seems to cater to the tastes of the average user here. Voted.

Yep, that one still has me facepalming at gog. :\
You can add They Bleed Pixels to the list. I emailed the developer about bringing the game here, and was told this:

"We'd love to bring TBP to GOG if they'd take it! Unfortunately they tend not to take indie games after they've been around for a few years and currently aren't interested in distributing They Bleed Pixels. If you really want to see it on GOG I'd suggest letting them know that you'd like to see TBP added. If enough folks do they may change their mind ;)"
