I talked once about thinking that it would be a good idea to have a database for my games collection, but my skills are so rusty it would really take a while until I'd be able to do a good job.

Somebody even sent me a file for LibreOffice, though that didn't work for me (thanks, though!).
Now I found a template on this page.
It looks pretty good, but I wanted to add some more stuff and as I said, it really takes a while to get into it again. So if somebody has 5 minutes, maybe they can edit in the changes I wanted to have :)

Under "Game Details" (when adding a new game) you have all sorts of categories (game name, system, publisher, system etc.). I'd really like to have an extra priority category (like the Wishlist has, but maybe going from "very high" to "very low"; this could be changed for the wishlist too) and a category where you can pick where you got the games from (so GOG, Steam etc.), with multiple choices being possible, of course (I tinkered around myself, but I'm certainly doing things wrong since I get an error when I import the changes I made :/).
And the system category should also allow for multiple choices.

I like that the database shows you the percentage of completed games (if that really works, haven't really checked it yet), would be even nicer to have a "played" category, which shows that you have at least tried the game, if not completed it. (<- don't know how complicated that would be to implement...)

Otherwise, feel free to make suggestions or to add in what you think would be nice. I think many people would be glad to have something like this, especially if they want to have an off-line database (I know about the online ones, but I really want to have one for myself :P).

Dunno bout copyrights or anything, so just upload it to some online platform or send it to me (and anyone else who'd like it) per PM or something.

Hopefully someone has the time to do this, it would be much appreciated =) (as for database tutorials, I found one, but I'd be losing too much time in addition to typing in my games list into the new database, too :D)

Haha, yeah, that might be an explanation :P
Or it's just everybody's thinking "do your own shit, bro!" :D

If this doesn't work, I'll just make a GA out of it :P Kidding, kidding ;)
Have you considered just using Backloggery.com? It does all of that stuff already.

Though I seem to be mistaken about the first part =/
I simply do not want to make another account online and everything. And a database would be easier to change according to one's needs.

Sorry, I missed the 'offline' part. I'd help with this, but apparently 3 of my clients found out I was getting married and moving in a month so they decided that NOW was the time they wanted modifications to/brand new websites so I'm swamped right now..
Alas! I do not have the Access 2007. I don't know what features it has, but personally, I think it's overkill when a spreadsheet should suffice. But, hey, whatever pushes your joystick buttons, mate! =P
Give a try this -> http://www.sisimizi.org/download/game_catalog/ :)

Information about this little program you'll find here. Also, it is translated to German, if you prefer to use your native language! Cheers!

First off, congratulations!! =)
Secondly, it's not an emergency, so should you still remember this in a few weeks, you can still do it if you want to! (but the Honeymoon should come first, naturally :D).

I've got a spreadsheet already, just wanted something a bit more dynamic and...sophisticated?

Thanks, will try this out and give you some feedback!
This is a pretty neat software, though it has too many categories and whatnot for my taste. But it' really nice to know there's something like this out there =)
