I logged on this morning, looked at my wishlist and noticed prices have mostly gone up from yesterday. What happened to GoG pricing where if a region has lower exchange rate the you are given the difference ?

I have noticed little creep ups here and there. Tie Fighter series is now more and some titles that were $7.99 are now all $8.29 AUD. In fact a lot of titles are not all of a sudden from yesterday $8.29

Don't we get the difference back in GoG credit or has GoG put up their prices ???

Also nothing to do with any additional taxes as they are not applicable from my present location.

[UPDATE]
Been noticing this for a while now. Sure .29c is not much but like I said overall some things are up by more than $1 since I started to notice I believe.

AUD is getting weaker thus costs more $AU to buy the equivalent $US

Yes I know, this is the point I am making about GoG having their price policy that if the title is MORE in your region you get the difference back.
Prices really are getting out of control. We should soon be getting game nutritional rationing cards to help us cope.
Hence GoG's fair price policy that should be giving us the difference.

From the front page

"...........Everyone should be treated fairly and not overpay for purchases just because they reside in a different part of the world.

If a product on GOG.com costs more in your country than the price in the US, we will make up the difference in value out of our own pockets, and offer it to you as a store credit that you can use towards any future purchase."

I assume you are in Australia at the moment?

We are paying the equivalent of the US price in Australian dollars. It is not priced more here.

Some games are regionally priced that we pay LOWER than the equivalent US$ amount - others are equivalent - some like The Witcher 3 - are higher. THOSE are the ones that the FPP *should* be applying to

*** $US being the baseline for the pricing

Example

Tie Fighter is US$9.99 and now $13.64 in AUD. Doesn't that mean we should get $3 GoG credit because it is far more than $9.99 here ?

Did that really merit six question marks? :P

Sorry I am a little confused.
I thought if US Tie Fighter is $9.99 and AUD is $13+ (and rising) we should be getting $3 back..... no ?

Absolutely :)

No

We pay (at GOGs conversion) - $US 9.99 - but in AUD

$1 AU = ~ $1.37 USD

Therefore 1.37 x 9.99 = $13.67

Since the $AU is weak we need $1.37 AU to buy $1 US

No. $10 USD is nearly $14 AUD at the present exchange rate.

If your GOG price were somehow significantly higher than $14 AUD, (e.g., $16 AUD) then GOG should credit you the difference (e.g., $2 AUD).

Excuse my redundant dollar signs.

Currently US $9.99 = $13.63 AUD as of right now. (xe.com) which is one of the most accurates but either way yes, I thought the fair price should be kicking in and we should be given the difference :(

I just don't see how it works. As I said I thought it was if it is 9.99 US and more than 9.99 in your currency eg 9.99 AUD then you gt the difference.

If it doesn't mean this, the AUD could keep dropping and 9.99 becomes $16 or more etc where does fair price kick in ? It does not seem to have kicked in before when the drop started :(

No because we are not paying MORE THAN THE BASE PRICE OF $US 9.99

It's not more in your currency - it's more than the US base price

EG The Witcher 3 - sold on GOG for $50US - Namco Bandai have the publishing rights for AU/NZ - they force GOG to sell for $70US to Australia (which they are allowed to do) - in this case we would get the FPP because we are paying more than the base US price

This is due to change in currency exchange rates for sure.
