'Bullet Hell' shooters or vertical / horizontal shooters in general - there used to be exceptions in the old days like Galaxians, Moon Cresta (or the C64 clone 'Blue Moon') and 1942 but I just can't get into stuff like Jamestown at all these days - they just bore me

martigasin: mario party is just broken, they give stars for doing nothing, C´MON NINTENDO !!

i believe that if a game uses cartoon style graphics doesn´t define the aim of the game. you could say that TF2 has a cartoon style but the mechanics and the level of expertise people can achieve is not for the younger crowd to enjoy.
the last mario party i played was 4
that game was so broken i returned it an hour later and got a different game

a lot of people for some reason cant look past the cartoony graphics
if the graphics look like a cartoon in motion then the game MUST be for children ( as if cartoons are solely for children people who think that id like to introduce to the grave of the fireflies ) instead of appealing to all ages

having said that nintendo does over do it these days and a lot of their mario games are revoltingly sugar coated the game mechanics are great for the most part
but at times it looks like the graphics are capable of giving you diabetes which turns a lot of adults off
Complex strategy/sim games. Mostly I don't have the patience for them or the inclination to learn new ones anymore.

I was heavily into Civilization 2 & SMAC back in the day, thought Command & Conquer: Red Alert thrilling camp cold war fun, and played my fair share of Stronghold and Caesar 3 when there were new.

But can't do it anymore. The mind wanders and disengages and what I'm doing feels silly and more akin to tinkering with spreadsheet or presentation software for work than a game.

Setting aside binging on now cult-classic retro titles like Blood when I was like, 16, I was never into FPS in general, with a few exceptions like American McGee's Alice, System Shock 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which were genre-blending games anyway.

I don't really have an interest in racing sims. I think the closest I got was briefly playing a lot of the original Driver and Need for Speed: High Stakes with Pearl Jam playing endlessly in the CD-ROM drive.
I can't stand dating sims and sandbox games like Minecraft and Terraria.
Any RTS.
I see the description RTS and the next second i close the window.
MMOs and MOBAs.
Puzzle games. Games like bejeweled and tetris never caught my eye. However I will fully admit to purchasing and enjoying Huniepop however it wasn't really for the..gameplay.

Still, I don't mind in-game puzzles like Resident Evil style, but puzzle games themselves bore me to no end.

First Person Shooters. Or Shooters in General. While playing counter strike back in the days, I usually died on the "select your weapon" section. And when I actually play, they kill me instantly. Here is an example.

I was watching lets play video of Crysis. The guy was playing on the hardest difficulty and he made it look so easy. So I bought the game on steam. I kept dying on the fist village. Uninstalled it after 4 hours of load-die-reload paradox. I am that bad.

NOTE: My friends say I am the best player at MMORPGs like WOW, Allods Online or SWTOR.
I really can not build any solid interest for most of Card games, RTS and T-RPG... And these new MOBA à la Dota 2, I dislike competititve, and multiplayer.

There are a few exceptions to my dislike of these genres, namely old Shining Force's, old and new Robot Taisen Ex's, old Command & Conquer's...

.... But the "new" brand of "Disagea" and "Warhammer Dawn of War" are too much for me.

Otome games, (VN girls romance guys) being one straight male are not my audience either.

I purchased one for my PSP that may be the exception, with a seemingly funny and clever writing, without focus and obligation on "romance", the game is, "Sweet Fuse: At Your Side" featuring Art from Phoenix Wright author and the plot seems preponderant enough. to be playable and enjoyable for me.
I'm not sure if there are games that I'm so bad that I can't play them beside the hard arcade games where you have to memorise the exact path or fail.

But out of time constrains and lack of interest I avoid all platformer, 3D shooter, RTS and racer including all subgenre of them by today.
Platformers... I simply suck at them. I couldn't get past the second or so screen of Super Meatboy for example. I get confused when I have to press more than 3 buttons at a time.
I really can't stand/play:
-MMORPG
-racing (car/moto/whatever)
-sports(any kind but fifa seems to be the supreme crap these days)
-4x
-all the simulation games, city builders etc
-iBirds, iPigs, farmville, candy all those are awful
-military realistic games
-minecraft
-all drmed games
Sports games of any kind. I can't play. They aren't interesting to play or watch irl.

I used to play mmorpgs when I was younger, but the communities in general in them as well as the "free to play" model of having the option to use real money made the little fun in them disappear.

Otherwise I can play almost any genre of games aside from the above.
