Pawel1995: GoG Galaxy: Settings => Notifications => "Friend starts a game" => Only in overlay / Only on desktop / -

Starmaker: That's for you as the recipient, "how do I stop my friends from bugging me every time they start a game". He's asking (so do I) "how do I stop my own Galaxy from bugging my friends every time *I* start a game". And that appears to not be an option.

Barefoot_Monkey: This is what I'd like too.

Pawel1995: Oh sorry. I don't think there is a way to do this (yet).

Barefoot_Monkey: I couldn't find anything like this on the community wishlist, so I made a wish.

If I Close GOG I close GOG

When or if? Pick one.

Whif. A whiff of GOG smells like...
<span class="bold">GR00T</span>
Sounds like a solid plan. I'd roll with it.

He may mean that he's close to something? "I'm close GOG, real close, just a few more releases and I release!" He could mean he's right near their offices. He could be some hotshot deal maker just bragging. Alternatively, maybe he's complaining about Galaxy running in the background when you close the app. Seem to remember it used to be the case that you had to turn this option on, but I expect they've changed that by now.

What if he opens GOG? What would happen? :O
<span class="bold">paladin181</span>
Pretty sure he means if he presses the red box with an x on Galaxy, it should close the application. NOT minimize it to the tray and keep it running in the background. I feel the same way. If I click the X, it's because I want it GONE for now, not because I want it out of the way. That's the WHOLE point of the minimize button.

Whilst i've only skimmed this thread (as theres alot of text here.) But the issue I have with Galaxy is that I cant not tell it to scan my PC. I asked this and was told I can delete a file. But I dont want to have to do this each time I install a game. There should be an option for Galaxy to only use the folder we tell it to monitor. As I want some games to use it and not all. For an optional thing that "feature" alone makes it not very optional.
<span class="bold">Gersen</span>
Well technically IIRC they said that Galaxy would be optional to "play" the game, so even if it was mandatory to "download" the game it would still be optional to "play" it. But I agree that it would be pushing it I would understand why some peoples would be angry about it ;). (but we are not there yet.)
<span class="bold">mm324</span>
Where did you see the word "play"? Unless they added it recently the only thing I've seen is that "galaxy will always be optional". I take optional to be not needed, but an extra.
<span class="bold">MarkoH01</span>
It is said at least in their introduction video (uploaded 2014 so I take it to be the original). To be exactly they are talking about that the game will always LAUNCH. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyYW9AOWh-8
