It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

paladin181: Topic. Profile is friends only, but the purple dot is stuck by my community menu and forum replies menu despite no new replies showing. Broken feature is STILL broken!
I encountered something similar(?):

If I get a purple dot (for forum replies), I usually go to "forum replies" and open these in separate tabs, which I then work my way through...most of the time: all normal, no problems.

Sometimes, however, there is no new reply in the thread, that the dot takes me to.

When this happened the first two to three times, I even went so far as to go back several pages, thinking that, maybe, someone replied to an older post of mine, and the forum screwed things up...but there is never something to be found.

Nowadays, I shrug it off, as I've learned to see it as just another GOG forum "speciality". ;)

jepsen1977: Just letting GoG staff know this is still an issue. My purple dot is permanently stuck for days with no actual reply there.

Basically you need to go into your browser's console (usually you can open it by pressing F12) and paste the following bit of code:

angular.element(document.body).injector().get('menuNotificationsRepository').deleteAllNotifications();

Then hit enter.

Thx and that did the trick and removed the purple dot.

fr33kSh0w2012: Aww... You Poor little Diddums I've had this purple dot since 5 years ago, Alas they said they would no longer fix it!
You replied to a year and a half old thread to brag about your incompetence? Sucks to be you, I guess. I've long since solved this issue myself.

GoG is bugging out again and can't reply to your post at me.

Can only speak for Chrome but you press F12 and a new "tab" opens up on your right side of the screen. Towards the top you can see the word "console" which you click on and then simply insert the line from the other thread that starts with "angular" into where the cursor is towards the bottom of the new tab. If you copy n paste the line then make sure there are no blank space at the end.

Hope this helps.

It just happened again...I got a purple dot (forum reply), went to the thread (count in pictures)...and no reply - just a new post (without a quote or an edit).

I believe in the past it also happened at least once in that thread (and maybe even with that same user?).
Happened to me once too.

I think it happens when the user pressed the 'reply button' on your post, but remove the quote entirely on the 'create post' window that pops with it.

------------------------------------------
Since I want to test this out:
I pushed the reply on 'BreOl72's post#52', then rid of the quote.
• If there's a notification, then its probably the case above.
• Else, I'm wrong and also wondering about what triggers this.

Hah,..I guess, you just solved that riddle. ;)

So it was really the reply that triggers the notification.
-Noted.

Oh, and thanks for the confirmation.

Yep - it was.

Don't mention it..you solved a riddle that caused me slight headaches in the past.
So, the confirmation was the least I could do. :)
