And it will costs only $2.50! Here's the link - LINK
For the curious this is NOT a new high-tech device form the Star Trek universe, but a technology from the 1950s that found its new application :)
When you look-up the patent you can clearly see it's based on the Boost converter circuitry that's been used in electronics and more specially in integrated circuits for quite some time :).
May I consider this thread as spam?

I'm sorry if I wrote it in a way you perceive it as spam. I just wanted to make a thread about something interesting and wanted to put an emphasis of the fact its not a new technology, but rather new application for something very well known, in order to be able to spark some, even funny, conversation about possible future applications of current technology. I just wanted to see new interesting ideas, crazy ideas, funny ideas and if you, as a community support the innovations (being so much advertised in my country), because everyone says this is the thing driving the world forward.

P.S.: I don't give a **** will you buy this or not, because, sadly, I'm not involved in it in any way. I probably will, if a pack of 4 won't cost me 30 or 40 bucks just for the shipment.

Thanks for posting the link, it was an interesting read (although I admit I did check the date on the article as I thought it might be an April Fools). I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how effective it is in reality.
