Is there a way of checking out people who send you a friend request on Galaxy?
On Steam, you can click on the person's avatar & either see their stats or they may have privacy selected, in which case I don't respond. I can't find a way of doing that on Galaxy.

A rule of thumb is if their nick starts with "t" and ends with "inyE" then better steer clear.

Other than that, As johnnygoging said, it's still beta so its features are limited.
GOG doesn't have public profiles yet, beyond the wishlist. Or much to call user profiles at all, really. In case they decide to make such, I hope they add back the "gender" selection with a couple dozen different options like Ninja and Pirate that they had earlier, as well as making the days-since-joined count visible again.
Thanx all, good feedback. Again, it's a shame GOG aren't on the ball more here because as we're all new to Galaxy, it's crucial that we're not only enabled to make friends here, but should be assisted in that for the sake of this burgeoning community. I've tried googling the username who's 'friend requested' me, with little satisfaction. I'm not gonna name him/her in a forum as I feel that would be bad form/insensitive & possibly lead to deformation of character & flame wars. :)
Hey ho, just have to wait for GOG to get their act together & pass on friends for now. :(

While I understand your concern, I've been making friends here for the last six years or so, through the forums and pm/chat (well, not yet chat, but that's what PM got replaced with). As far as I'm concerned, a list and profiles help little with making friends, rather behaviour and manner are the best tools in that respect.

Couldn't agree more with that assessment. +1

You're wrong. We need a way to tell if someone is a decent white Christian because I refuse to have anything to do with anyone who isn't.

And I want to know gender too, or better yet, just don't allow females period. They shouldn't be here to begin with, they belong in the kitchen.

Thanx Maighstir. My friend request is from someone I've had no connection with, so it would help to have some info. If you've been making friends for 6yrs, then you're talking GOG forums, whereas my point is about Galaxy. I entirely agree that behaviour and manner are best judgements, but my point is, I have no links to this person's behaviour and manner so how could I judge that? On Steam, if you can access a person's profile, you can then often read their comment history to allow such a judgement. Hope that clarifies my point. :)

Well I accept anyone because for the most part it's harmless, and worse case scenario the person you friend turns out to be total psycho then you can just 'un-friend' them; takes only a few seconds.

Ahh, the infamous tinyE. Glad you clarified that mate, coz I was gonna take you to task about ' 'females belonging in the kitchen'. I'm guessing you're a youngster coz all us mature male gamers know they belong in games, as scantily clad sidekicks with huge weapons. :)
