Classic space game from microsoft in 2003. MS no longer interested in the game and will not support it anymore and have not done for few years. My copy worked great, into win 10, until some upgrade or other scorched it. Strangely enough the FL on my laptop, with Discovery 487 mod still works fine. But I cannot run FL on its own anymore.

If MS are no longer interested in it they may give GOG the use of it.

PLEASE!!!!

One can never be too enthusiastic about having Freelancer added!
I managed to pick up the game last week for £1.50 in a charity shop and was in good condition. Though to run on windows 10 you need a no cd crack to get it to run but apart from that runs well.

Hopefully microsoft will come on board at some point and give us a out of the box running version of the game.
This game and it's predecessor Starlancer are my very fond memories of outer space flight journey
Freelancer is what made me love PC games. I added my vote to the wishlist when I first joined. My original Freelancer disc went missing, but I still had a copy loaded on my computer, so I'm still able to run it with a no cd added.

So many of us would love to have it here. :)

Freelancer is one of the few games I voted for on GOG. I played through the story mode a few times, played online with friends and tried a lot of different mods. A lot of fans says Discovery, Crossfire and other large mods are the best but (though I love Discovery) actually the small old ones do the real magic like Evolution, 88Flak, and Nomad Revenge.

It would be possible to restore the master server for the game just like what happened to Battlefront 2. If that happen GOG could run a server with the Evolution mod (because that is the closest to the vanilla games, actually it do nothing other than enabling the usage of all the ship from all the classes).
