PookaMustard: But why would he add "DRM-free options" as a plural that counts Steam in when he mentioned Steam beforehand? I'll go in ahead and ask about GOG specifically getting a release.
If you want to read it like that then grammatically he's also claiming there's Steam options, which, though technically speaking that's possible if you count key selling, I doubt is what he meant. But yeah, most reassuring if they give a direct answer about GOG.
Is anyone else disappointed that the next version won't have 16-bit era graphics? That was the charm of the first game, and it's really odd that they're dropping that for the second one.

I guess they want to attract new players, so they're dropping 16-bit graphics. But maybe they add a 16-bit mode to FP2.
I think I'm trying to get the answer out of Strife, I hope he notices me in the Announcement thread over there at the forums.

Anyways, I'm not feeling the hype myself. The logo feels out of place, the sprites seem to need some time to get used to, and I dunno, it just doesn't sound right, the sequel itself with the new everything? But I'm waiting to see how it'll turn out later, no problem.
The developer Seraphna brought you what you all wanted to hear. In response to Lord Brevon's question (A.K.A. Not PookaMustard) about the GOG release:
Yes we have every intention for the game to be on Humble and GoG. If we can swing it, possibly another IndieBox too.

So, rejoice. No need to stick to your, err, skeptical views about the initial comment.
The first game was a real treat next to Shovel Knight, so I'm stoked.

And for some reason that trailer gave me Sonic Adventure 1 vibes.

Nice work. +1.
My one complaint about the original Freedom Planet are that the levels are too long and should have been split up into separate acts. Aside from that, what I played of the game was fun.
Freedom Planet 2 and on GOG! That is great news!

Good job! :)
+1
I am very excited about this as I enjoyed Freedom Planet 1 very much. Games like this make me excited about what future indie games could achieve!
Wow, thanks for the info. Now we just have to wait.
GalaxyTrail just released Grapple Force Rena on Steam and totally skipped gog. Looks like we're no longer guaranteed Freedom Planet 2 here.

EDIT: Looks like it may get here eventually, but they seem to be one of those "Steam comes first" devs.

As well they should. I hate to see developers hoping to get a huge number of sales from GOG. The community just isn't big enough here, to guarantee the numbers. Every developer should release on STEAM first, debug their game, sell DLC, and a year later, release a proper DRM-Free build in the form of a complete edition, with sales expectations tempered by the context. Also every developers should consider releasing on Switch and Playstation, which still seems to guarantee a lot of sales.

Unfortunately, considering Thronebreaker's release, not even CD Projekt seems to realize this.
