Castlevania...now who doesn't know this game, but here's a summary in case you're one of them.
Ever played mario? Mario is one of the first games for the platformers genre and was released in 1983.
But what was mario missing? You can spit out fireballs (magically out of your rear)
No weapons... No swords or knife for you to cut your enemies.
And you had mushrooms and flowers as your enemies. Very PG.
Welcome Castlevania to the scene of platformers in 1986!
Castlevania was a hack and slash platformer, featuring Dracula as your major antagonist.
Instead of kid-friendly enemies, Dracula's monster minions attacks you.
Some grotesque and horrifying (albeit in pixel graphics) gather in hoards around you.
And for the first time, aerial enemies attack you from above! Namely, Dracula's bats!
Personally, I don't recall any aerial enemies in the first Mario Bros.
Back then, vampire related media were also very trendy in entertainment scene, so this game soared in popularity.
To this day, it is still one of Konami's most successful franchises!
