Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

who cares? if that were the case just create a fake account with fake data and get the free games, they're even DRM free

I give more thought to what's the real difference between DRM free (where you don't even get tech support, mostly) and pirated games, on the digital era

Serial Cleaner (in it's GOG and Steam versions) being a good example

I would say that it's not worth it even if you create an account using fake details and a throwaway email account simply because you still need to install the EGS launcher which has been known to silently collect information from people's computers and sending it to Epic Games servers. AFAIK it's been confirmed that it collects/collected Steam user data which was kept in an unencrypted file.

Because of this, user data leaks and the general feeling of incompetence on the part of either the programmers working for Epic Games, their managers or both (notice how the EGS is still missing basic features like a shopping cart which caused people's accounts to get flagged for making too many purchases during the sale on EGS in June or how they claim to have completed support for preloading but for some reason won't support it for Borderlands 3) I would advise against installing the Epic Games Store launcher unless you are going to use a separate computer exclusively for EGS.

Hard to say from one side there's the thinh with the data leck. Don't really know much about it, but that's something you have to decide if you want to risk it. And how bad it would be for you if that happened to you. Like do you do illegal things on your PC, buy things from the darknet, files nobody should ever see etc. I for my part don't give a damn who's spying on me as long it's not the cops haha. Probably not the smartest way to think about that theme I guess.

And also you can just create an epic account without downloading the launcher or anything and just add the free games every week to your account. That's who I do.

But in the end it's up to you to decide. How important is your onlinedata to you?
My best advice that you do like at least 10min of research yourself and then decide what you do.
