For Linux users, I found that enabling the console pre-launch is the easiest method. I modified the steam launcher like this.
sh -c 'STEAM_FRAME_FORCE_CLOSE=1 steam -console' %U
And the CONSOLE section appeared inside the Steam client.

I found typing much faster than clicking around and looking for some strange solutions when everything works flawlessly from the console. You may also download the game the very same way:
