I don't think he should be on the scammer list.
So what if its two years old? There is a saying amongst gamers- "Once a pirate, always a pirate"

But now I see how anyone with a high rep is supported by other goggers and given a pass.

If this guy had below 20 rep, all you people would be going crazy at him.

Just because someone has a high rep, does not mean you should turn a blind eye towards their actions.

High rep does not equal good person.


In real life, Bernie Madoff had a very good reputation and it turns out he was a world class fraudster and scam artist.

Three things:

1) Have you any proof of that high rep = free pass? I've seen members with higher rep than amrit9037 being downvoted because they were in favour of piracy ("FIGHT THE SYSTEM" mentality).

2) You still haven't answered me about how did you stumble upon the piratebay link.

3) Didn't you insinuated that players should pirate AoE2?

So we don't give people a second chance any longer?

I don't look at the rep (and if I would, I wouldn't consider 97 a high rep), I look at his actions here. He didn't scam anyone, he participates in discussions outside the gift/giveaway threads and I have't seen any offensive posts by him.

He might have done something wrong about two years ago, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that he changed. There are several regulars here who openly admit that they pirated games in the past and who pay for their games now. Why can't he be one of them?

Agree with you but that was 2 year ago! Plus who the heck here hasn't downloaded something illegally? Or streamed something? I think we all are guilty on that at some point and even if he is still downloading games and stuff what does that have to do with GOG forums? I get that it hurts the company but I see you bring it up on the giveaways threads but that has nothing to do with him scamming other users. I might be wrong in my thinking and if so let me know.
