I'm not sure how I'd do that if actually trying to consistently and specifically be someone else.
Perhaps your character could have a thing for RP-ing, then you could pretend to be someone who pretends to be someone else, and that someone else could be you making **** up as you go along. Problem solved.

Well, I do something similar in a Vampire Live RP: I play a Malkavian vampire who has the mental disorder that he is convinced that no vampires exist but that all this vampire business is just a big live role playing game...
