HypersomniacLive: Don't overlook everything that had transpired, and the point in the game I threw a bone to trentonlf. I think that there was hardly anyone on the village team that believed anything you'd have acted anymore.
Also, don't overlook that most didn't buy trentonlf's minion claim, but wouldn't put him on the village team either.
I dunno, it seemed like people, albeit not very many, were still ready to vote me up until that minion claim.
Although that one was...possibly the nail in my coffin.

I'm really curious to hear what Trent's plan was for the game, or if he was just winging it. It was a valiant last-ditch, I'll admit.

I'd love to play this again if another one comes 'round. Definitely way more enjoyable for me than the regular Mafia games. Lemme know if another springs up.

HypersomniacLive: 1.) No it couldn't. Or do you think I'd play it the same had I picked a different switch to make?

2.) I was LMAO reading that bler144 robbed you, and knew that very moment that what I did would have absolutely no impact on solving the puzzle/game.
1.) nah the stipulation in the "could" is "if you'd played it the same having made a different switch", as I said, obviously in this specific instance you did it fine (sooner would have been good too though), and I was more "teaching" for potential future games

2.) yeah it's pretty fucking funny, again, note the D column comment in the nightactions tab (:
oh another HUGE thing working against the wolves:

no tanner in the game

that is really rough

general wolf strategy is to try to get everyone to think you're a tanner somehow so they don't vote you, obvs

HypersomniacLive: Why did blotunga vote No-Lynch? *scratches head*
I'd like to hear about that as well :)

Everything we're discussing concerns the game from trentonlf's claim and after. That's why I say, your chances of winning this would have been slim to none.

You were doing great up until a point, but tried a bit too hard - too much/obvious directing trentonlf, too much/obvious coddling blotunga. And that's where regular forum-mafia experience makes the difference.

Starting with his claim of a lone-wolf being in play, I think trentonlf was going for backing you up as the seer, pointing at cristigale and using everything that had happened until then to support it, plus trying to exploit the fact that bler144 and I are usually suspicious of her on principle.

But as dedoporno said, were it not the season time, and the game-day shorter, things may well have gone into a different direction.

I think the fact cristi drew mason kind of screwed things up (for the wolves) a bit as well. It really validated her claim (I knew immediately she was the real seer because of that), if she had picked Tanner instead it might have been a whole different game.

I agree with Hyper, zeo was doing pretty well but turned a little desperate at the end and it became too obvious he was trying to direct attention. If the cards had matched cristis I might have believed he was lone wolf double bluffing, but with the villager in the wrong place I knew he couldn't be a lone wolf. So with that in mind he was either a wolf very subtly trying to seem like he didn't want to get lynched (and therefore pretending he did, ie was Tanner so we wouldn't vote him) or he did want to get lynched and wanted to be twigged on that.
I almost voted him in the end, but didn't think it was worth bothering as I doubted anyone else would.
I had prepared a post that I almost posted yesterday before the game thread closed, but I did not want to take away from a great game. Here is the post:

I must apologize to everyone, especially Blotunga and Zeo (if he is the minion), as I should not have tried to play this time around. I was so busy with family and the secret Santa event that I really did not have time to devote to the game. Once the game started and I was able to find some free time to post most people had already claimed and I was too late to the party. I honestly did just try to skim the game thread day one as my time was so limited at the start and so I really did think Hyper had claimed to have switched me. After I realized my mistake all I could think to do was claim villager and see where it went since my time was limited.

I knew from the start that Zeo was minion or tanner when he claimed seer and saw only one wolf card since there were two wolves. I was betting he was the minion. Once the game started to become clear for most that I was a wolf all I could think to do was claim minion and go from there. I knew it was only a slight chance it would succeed, but I was so far behind in the game and short on time that it's all I could really do. I give big props to Gogtrial for his thought process. He has a good knack for this game and for mafia in general. You should keep playing for sure ;) I also think you should play more Blotunga, you would make a very good mafia player as well, you did
great in this one IMO.

I personally enjoyed this format and would play again, the only suggestion I would have is to make the day and night phases a little shorter.

Yeah, I think it showed that you were short on time, and that's probably the main point against you.
If you had been more active you might have at least been able to pull off the Minion / Tanner ploy and shy some people off voting you.

Otherwise I think you did alright and I really was only just voting for you because it seemed the surest thing. I was all prepared to have lost it by voting you.
I really need to work more on parsing my thoughts and putting them down for others to understand better!

I read gogtrial's posts and I'm like "well yeah, that's what I said, right?" or "what I said should have allowed everyone to understand those things"

If I had more time I would not have claimed villager at the beginning for sure, and I for sure would not have just skimmed the thread and made a mistake in what Hyper did ;)

Funnily enough, the mason card is what zeogold also tried to exploit to make his seer fake-claim believable, but that turned out to also be damning for him.

The Santa-wolf did! ;-P

as was I, but my confidence was still pretty high I had the right reads, even so, my msg to dedo:

"voting for trent - it's so hard to know for sure, but I gotta go with that"
Niiiiice! Go town!

Big thanks dedoporno for running this! This was loads of fun.

I'm pretty certain I like full-on mafia better due to the extra depth, but do very much like the limited time-scale and how this moved right on into the meat of things. Agreed that a maximum of 4 non-holiday days (maaaybe 5) would be the sweet spot for this format, and I wouldn't be at all opposed to playing again.

Hunter: I'll have to recalibrate my scumdar where you're involved, because your way of playing was seriously pinging me once more and if it wasn't for the wealth of choices offered by Zeo, blotunga and trent, I would've been very suspicious of you. How much of that was you banking on your role, and how much your regular play style? (I fear far too much the latter...)

Trent/blotunga: You had a really tough job here. Chapeau on a very valiant attempt! Blotunga in particular, if it wasn't for PoE, I would've townread you for sure.
Zeo: The same even more so for you on the valiant attempt, you really worked your ass off there!

Drealmer/bler/cristi/trent: Ah, stop it with the praise, you're making me think suspicious thoughts! *nearly blushes* ;P And Drealmer, your posts really helped me a lot with grounding my theorizing, so thanks for that.

HSL: Utter agreement on that "lol" for swapping bler and drealmer right back. That's definitely going to be something future robbers will have to take into account: "Does the most obvious swap a troublemaker would make involve me? Then I should rob someone else!" *g*

Adalia: Did my playstyle really keep pinging you as scummy all the time, or was some of that for the benefit of scum who might try to jump on it and exploit it? If the former, then sorry, but this is really the way I work. I'm glad I convinced you of that in the end. :)

You reminded me a bit of zeo, and I was 90% sure he was scum, so when you seemed to be trying to push the game a bit too I thought you might be scum.
But your last few posts of analysis swayed me (and the opinion of everyone else made me think I was misreading you)
@Zeo - I agree with HSL.

You'd already WIFOMed the heck out of whether HSL would bluff his claim or not, so there was zero reason to take any claim you made 100% seriously if he did claim to have swapped you. The one thing that absolutely would've come from him getting a fake claim out of you is confirming cristi, and that would've just tightened the noose further with even the slightest analysis, both in 100% town-clearing her, but also the info she'd provided - not so much clearing adalia who was cleared, but pointing back towards a two-wolf scenario as more likely even if not guaranteed.

And in that world you defnitely look more like minion than wolf.
