Zchinque: How would you guys like to this - a nomination process first, then a vote, or just go straight to voting?

Suggestions for awards are very welcome.
I'd say nominations, otherwise votes can fly about in insanely many directions.

As per awards, I think mod could be split into two, Best mod and best (or most interesting) game setup.

As per prizes, they most certainly should be mafia flavoured, eg gangland, mafia (if it rolls in on GOG any time soon :p Otherwise, Steam will likely have it cheap) and stuff like that :D

I'd also be willing to contribute $10 to the prizes.

I have nothing against awards but do you think we have big enough player base to make it interesting?

If it happens thrn I think there should be nominations first. Maybe to pick 3 people from nominations for each category and everyone can sort them and assign them points? 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd? Or skip nomination process and each person can assign those points to anyone?

Some of you may have noticed me getting very enthusiastic in the forum mafia games.
It's just a shame & haven't managed to match that enthusiasm with talent....

Anyway, to celebrate, I've broken up a gift code into 4 parts & hidden them in 4 of the various mafia game threads.
To make it slightly easier, they will only appear in games that I was a part of.
The code is for a mafia themed pack:
Mob Rule
Kingpin: Life of Crime
Gangland
You never know, you might be enthralled by what you see while hunting & decide to join the next game.....

I'm babysitting tomorrow, and will have quite a bit of time to kill, so if anyone would be interested in playing some blitz mafia, I'd be happy to moderate.
We'd need 5 players per game, and each game shouldn't take more than an hour total.
I'll probably be around from 8-9 pm UTC and onwards.

Mafia Awards sound like a good idea, but I'm really thinking we'd need a nominations round first. If no-one objects, I'll have the GOGfather throw together a nominations thread and we'll see how it goes. (And I'll definitely chip in to the prizes fund, too.)

Also, I'm volunteering as a reviewer. I think I'll take a break from playing for one or two games, so feel free to PM me. I'll also add myself to the end of the modding queue; I think I have an idea or two floating around.

Posting test as I seem to be unable to post in gama 9 after posting in game 8.

EDIT: It seems GOGfather is unfortunately not almighty. For some reason I can't post the same announcement as I posted in Game 8. Neither modified announcement.

EDIT2: Can some other incarnation of GOGfather try to post it? Or your own announcement, I don't cling to this one.
