Leonard03: Not going to answer this question.
Are you grieving over Hunter? It's a process.

vote Leonard until you decide otherwise.

No, actually just one person will replace Sage. Even though she is irreplaceable!
Agreed. She is one in a million.

Again hit post reply too soon. Had to wait those 10 mins.

Well anyway, goodnight. will be unteresting what else tomorrow brings.
I'm more than willing to vote Leonard today, but I think we might need to stop and think about this for a second... Let's assume Leonard isn't the real mason (that seems far less likely then mchack at the moment), why exactly would he challenge and not quite counter claim mchack's claim?

Right now the only reason I can think is he's last night's convert and want's to direct attention away from the lynch of an original scum, one who still has a conversion.

Which would suggest Bookwyrm might be his buddy (though it does require a little stretch because Leonard may not actually know which of his new buddies converted him and which one still has a shot left, but he may be willing to risk his life to protect both of them anyway).

And if he is the real mason.. well by lynching him we'd give scum mchack another night of mayhem before the inevitable lynch tomorrow.

So Leonard, do you have anything more to say about why you disbelieve mchack's claim or any evidence to base your accusations on?
Come on guys. Why would I claim? If I'm mason, 1 mason for 1 scum is a bad trade. If I'm vanilla, I don't want to let scum know and help them figure out who masons actually are.

I'd be more than happy to reconsider if there is a good answer to that question, yet there seems there isn't. At this point I don't think there is counter-claiming without actually claiming. It has to be 1 for 1 or not at all. Mchack put his head on the line and there is no going back for him. Unless the other party does the same they can't just wave it off like "yeah, I don't believe that because I don't believe that". If he didn't want to claim he shouldn't have challenged the original claim.

As for him being a convert - I'd take it over risking exposing another mason or hitting a hidden townie. I'm still unsure on where to put Bookwyrm and HSL, so I'm open to suggestions.

At this point? I'm not sure it is.
Either we take out one whole scum team (if you or mchack are Hunter's buddy) or we keep scum numbers low. To kill the real mason scum would have to forgo their conversion shot so their numbers at least shouldn't increase (depending of we have two teams still by tonight and if we hit a scum with conversion power left).

dedo is right, mchack has claimed and put a target on himself, so if you do not then you are going to be the lynch today. In which case if you flip mason we know what to do, but we've lost a mason anyway.

But right now it feels like dying is actually what you are aiming for, and you are not a mason..

Really I'd just like you to give us something other than 'no way he's a mason's, while I don't agree with mchack's play style this game I can see how he thought it was the right thing to do if he was a mason, whereas you are giving us nothing to base a decision on.

[/i]Meanwhile Sage has found a dismantled autodoc in the broom-closet under one stair of the bridge. No one knows what it is doing there. Or if it still works. But silently, she sets out to put it together again, in the hope that it might be able to scan brains without killing the patient. No one notices her work. The first thing you notice is her scream. Apparently she decided to test it on herself - and oh boy, does the machine work! Only it doesn't scan her brain, instead it gives her an overall cosmetic workover. New face, new body structure ... it looks painful, but you don't know how to stop it without killing her. Helplessly you watch, as she is remodeled. And when the machine is done, out steps a new Sage, who looks nothing like herself anymore. Instead she looks like gogtrial. (But (s)he totally is the same person!) The machine, however, breaks down again right away and starts smoking. So you still don't have a non-lethal way of investigating someone's brain.

Please welcome gogtrial34987, who is taking over for Sage!

Welcome, gogtrial! See you in the next game, Sage, I hope you'll be ready with everything RL by then :)
Hey all. Glad I can jump in. I need to head off shortly, but should be around during late afternoon and evening (European time) to share some initial thoughts. Sadly I'll then be completely absent all of Tuesday (might make a short post or two in the evening, but even that is doubtful). I expect to be fully up and running from Wednesday onward. I know that's not ideal, as several people were waiting for contributions from Sage, but it's the best I can offer.

I've kept up with the thread, but only superficially, so I'll try to cram in some rereading tonight.
@Sage, I hope life slows down for you soon and you can play again!

Welcome gogtrial! I’m happy to see you playing :-D

@Leonard, I would have been satisfied with a “no” and reasons for your doubt, but your answer was an implied yes. A no doesn’t say anything about you other than that you’re not claiming Mason and an implied yes means you are leaving that open as a possibility to claim later if you need to.
