Bookwyrm627: don't forget something else Flub said: "PLEASE BE ADVISED: Some roles will have Night Zero Actions and some will have Super Secret Secret Stuff only revealed to player possessing the role."
Right, I did forget about that but that statement will still be correct even if it relies to just one role (i.e. the Mystery role). Anyway, this is nothing more than speculation and there is no point in discussing it, on the contrary - there is a chance for something better kept secret to get out in the process.

What is more interesting is why was drealmer the target. Was it a strategic move or just to fuck him up? He is among the people who like to write a lot so I can see how someone would screw with him by effectively cutting off this ability.

If it was a strategic move I fail to see what the goal is. Someone was either scared of him for whatever reason (seems unlikely) or was indeed trying to set up some double play. bler suggested it might have been an attempt to frame him but that seems like an extremely weak and pointless play. If bler haven't brought that possibility up I would've never even thought about blaming him for it. But all of that smells dangerously like WIFOM either way at this point and with the available amount of information.

cristigale: I believe the restriction came from a role. It could be from a prize, but I agree with dedo, my prize would not lead me to believe it was prize.
In his last game, flubbucket had a prize that would globally role-block everyone for one Night (the flavor was a huge fart, iirc). I can't dismiss this sort of prize power as out of hand, given that other power.

avatar
cristigale: I lean toward the mystery role, I can imagine that role having some unusual powers.
Also a strong candidate.

avatar
cristigale: Flubb mentioned that some roles would have " Super Secret Secret Stuff only revealed to player possessing the role." From that, it could be other roles.
True, but which role do you think this sort of power might fit? Party Host? Tree Stump? Vanillaiser? Most of the roles don't seem to fit this sort of added power. Granted, flubbucket may have just handed out bonus powers without flavor context, but that doesn't seem likely given the fairly cohesive (if a bit outlandish) flavor of his last game.

avatar
cristigale: Flubb also mentioned that there would be triggered events, I'm not sure what would have triggered drealmer's restriction.
I hadn't thought of this. I also am not sure what would have caused this sort of triggered event.

As for the bler144/yogsloth thing, I have a theory. ... and that is all I'll say about that.

@bler144 you say you would rather shelve this discussion until Day 3. Why that Day in particular?
avatar
flubbucket: Do not post in this thread again.
Oh, shit. That sounded serious. Like, never before seen flub serious. Or maybe it's just me reading flub's post in an old angry voice that's making it seem that way...

Did you catch the one that I did today? It was leg day. Oh, that boost of testosterone and protein felt so good.

(skyping)

Role/WIFOM related.

Continuing a prior conversation, the major upside, as I saw it, of a final small pool with random selection was that it becomes quite impossible for scum to "guess" what role I would choose other than by happenstance, particularly if they paid attention to my description of how I picked, yet still rules out drawing roles I don't want or see a use for. Reading my mind gets them nowhere.

They would know I have a role, but little/no ability to predict how big a threat I was, or if/how to counter it, barring an early claim and/or a lucky break.

Maybe I'm angling to get NKed, maybe it's a bluff hoping they don't. In any case, I have enough suspicion that I think it unlikely I draw protection, but you know, WIFOM. ;)

Last game I bluffed a role to draw the NK when I was vanilla - this time I can't exactly fake having/not having a role, but I can leave it ambiguous how big a threat said role is.

To be clear, I may or may not be saying D3 is magical. Maybe I blossom into my full powers of womanhood on that day!

Or... that may just be my estimate of when I'll likely either be dead anyway or in a better position to claim without messing up the WIFOM I have going. I guess the TLDR is I wanted to give scum at least two nights to decide if/when to kill me without knowing precisely what i do or how (or even if) to counter it, and then assess from there.

I also assumed that if I lived til D3, barring some sort of proof that I was town, I'd have at least a few raised eyebrows wondering how the one person who definitely has a role is still alive. So I highly doubt I have the luxury of waiting to claim til D5/6.

D3 kinda seemed like the most likely sweet spot when the game started. Soon enough but not too soon. I do realize exigent circumstances make plans change and that's pretty much where we're at. /shrug
So, now that I dumped the chick I was dating because she was way too high maintenance and IDGAF, I was trying to hit it with this cute girl that lives in my dorm and met at a ball with. The thing is, I think I'm losing my frame. She's onto me. She knows what I want. That is kryptonite and makes me interesting, but I can't just IDGAF cuz then I simply get taken out of the picture. For IDGAF I'd have to pull hella 'va lot of chicks to show I am desirable, but I'm still in my proto alpha stages so that's a no go for now.

What do I do? I'm open to advice.
Edit: "....kryptonite and makes me uninteresting."

The word is uninteresting.

HijacK: What do I do? I'm open to advice.
I have one. You can ping me in the chat and we can converse about this and other things, if you like, and stick to a bit more game-relevant discussions in the this thread. Side-tracking is fine every now and then but you are yet to post something that matters in the context of the game. With that said, do you have anything game-related to share?

If I'm not mistaken you were already getting reads earlier. Should be a decent starting point.
avatar
dedoporno: With that said, do you have anything game-related to share?
Just observing. I don't have anything incriminating or even serious, and what I have so far are only gut feelings, but whatever was put in motion by a handful of people here is giving me content to analyze. I could do questioning tho. Hmmmm.

Dedo, where were you on the 23rd of December 2014?.... Just kidding.

Back to the main topic:

Krypsyn: What is the basis for your vote again?

CSPVG: What is your take on the whole CL debacle?

Everyone: Who do you think is twisted enough to pick such a role? You know, such gut feelings may be right. This being said, I would like people to also consider the possibility of a CL not existing. Though, with so many people curious to pick the role just to see if anyone else got it, or to mess with some of the vets that hate the role, I wouldn't be surprised if one of those that announced they didn't pick the role is lying.

Speaking of CL, what if one of the vets that hates the role picked it just because they are the least likely people to be suspected of it?

The mystery continues!

I'm going to suggest that you play Mafia with us. That will show her you're a huge nerd who DGAF!

I don't think she knows what that is. Still, IDGAF.

Now here's a question for you: Who do you find most likely to be CL, if anyone at all? And who do you find least likely?
Pre-post apology for the wall

Ok, I'm back among the living coffee drinkers and hot-dog owners. To say something after just lightly passing through the posts: Cult Leader is bad for this game and I think that if one exists in the game, then we are feeding him/her with information on how to do what with that role. Which also leads me to believe that for now... For now...speaking about roles is not helpful. Might cause problems for Town and give Mafia and Cult (if either or both exist (saying that because flubbucket keeps leaving remarks of "maybe exists")) information as to who they should kill and and who might hold what role. No speaking about roles. I may stop now. Thank, me.

Drealmer's situation is a big question mark with yellow bulbs and shining lights, and those squeaky annoying alarm noises. What the hell happened? But neither drealmer will give answers now, neither flubbucket, so one is left to ponder about a gazillion of possible "why?"

Do you two have a *thing going on* now? Should we be worried? Oliver, I am watching you. Except when you go to shower. And to that other room.

*sip coffee* *bite hot-dog*

Sooo.... Trentonlf has a mini fight with drealmer, poking each other with pointy things and same accusation (#241), drealmer is mod-killed and trentonlf only wants to speak of roles no more. Not a single word about being wrong about accusing drealmer? Makes me think he hides some sinister secret and drealmer's pointy thing poke was a poke of justice! I mean, I am ok with trentonlf not wanting to speak about roles, I don't want to speak about them too. But I don't want to feed Mafia and possible Cult maniac information so early in the game. Later on we may be forced to discuss roles, but until there is a need, lets not create stupid situations for ourselves.

But I don't like how trentonlf is just passing by the radar unnoticed where it concerns drealmer. I find trentonlf scummy.

Vote trentonlf

*sip hot-coffee* *bite sausage in a bun*

Anyone noticed, how drealmer BAH!'ed his post #243 like a dead man? o__O

If I quote drealmer's posts, it's not to get answers from him, but to make a comment on something he said.

avatar
drealmer7: hey look, bler is back online!
Checking who is online leads to assumptions that most of the time are utterly wrong. Don't do that. These things are confusing in general.

Drealmer was making a huge case against bler. The case making started on Twilight period for...what reasons? It just started out of the blue. Some things drealmer said are interesing (about bler and role picks), but the more drealmer talked, the wilder theories he got. Like this:
avatar
drealmer7: 3.) the moderator would then either give that player or all of mafia a list of all of the roles that actually got picked and are in the game (of course not which players got them), that way when taken to lynch and go L-1, they know their claim will not be met with a true counter-claim and this benefits 1st player being mafia in a fair way.
It basically means Mafia is overpowered as hell and Town can go screw itself. What kind of game this would be?

JMich's insight is noteworthy.

Drealmer sort of admits/reveals he wants to push bler to the edge of lynch to get a forced claim out of bler and to see what happens (#254). So, what? Is it like a grudge on bler that bler was first to pick a role and had many possibilities? And if bler flips Town role after lynch, what would have happened then? "Oops, I was wrong"?

In this game drealmer was acting unlike himself in every way possible and even though he flipped Town, his actions are too hard to be judged right. Drealmer was very confusing this game and that is a bummer. While in previous games his long posts and analysis would make him a target, he always contributed much.

Cristigale managed to express her ideas about drealmer in a very short, nice and understandable way. I share same ideas, but it looks like I am typing too much.

avatar
bler144: All three of dess/dedo/cristi were online prior to drealmer's affliction emerging, however.
I am scum for being online? That is one of those crazy assumptions I meant earlier. I had forum opened the bigger part of the day among 20 other tabs and unable to write here because of lack of time.

avatar
HijacK: Everyone: Who do you think is twisted enough to pick such a role? ... I wouldn't be surprised if one of those that announced they didn't pick the role is lying.
Valid point and leaves a huge WIFOM on every "did not pick" claim. And if anyone picked it, I would think him to be trentonlf (which is one of not-so-solid-and-WIFOM-guessing-reason for my vote).
avatar
Dessimu: Except when you go to shower. And to that other room.
*bite hot-dog*
I don't know about that...
avatar
HijacK: Now here's a question for you: Who do you find most likely to be CL, if anyone at all? And who do you find least likely?
I am more interested in why do you give these questions without providing your own answers? It looks like fishing.
avatar
Dessimu: I am more interested in why do you give these questions without providing your own answers? It looks like fishing.
Congratulations! Give this man a hot-dog!

Well, pretty much that. I ask because I got nothing. It's pretty damn hard to choose the least likely CL picker from Vitek and Kryps because I haven't played enough to see who hates it more. And most likely? Shit. That's like asking me which Victoria's Secret model I'd bang. All of them? Anyway, trent looks like a solid candidate, but I don't think he's suicidal enough to join a conversation about CL and say "I was interested in it because X" if he had the role. WIFOM, but that's virtually all I got.
avatar
HijacK: Now here's a question for you: Who do you find most likely to be CL, if anyone at all? And who do you find least likely?
Most likely? I don't know.
Least likely? Me, easily. I know this because I didn't pick it.
