Starmaker: UEFA and FIFA have nothing on UCI. *glare*

Happy belated Int'l Women's Day! Here's what I've been doing to celebrate. In this pic: 100 km down, 100 to go, I'm freezing and I don't yet know my hub is busted.
You glare as hard as u you wish, but in Europe, the university system is mainly tax funded and henceforth intended to advance research and intellectual property. When it comes to sports, "panem et circemses" finds it way - easily! Like throwing of mobile phones or bog footie. Just as Finnish example.

U posted meanwhile your pic to get pointed out that the gal just huddled, as opposed to enjoyed some? Because..?

I am sincere, particularly in a forum where I'm mostly anonymous... and as usual I find it hard to understand your point(s)...

I did like your gallantry joke :) I can agree with the several people that have told me I'm passionate, but gallantry is assuredly not in my character. You got me squared with that comment, which is why I somewhat resent the aside about equality. Anyway, let me move away from the personal...

Here's a third repetition of my point, since as far as I can see, you're still not answering it, either from
1) not wanting to (in which case kindly just say so)
2) or because you're not understanding it (I doubt it, you seem sophisticated enough)
3) or because you doubt my sincerity (in which case, I don't know, ask me stuff so we establish sufficient rapport?).

I am interested in understanding how you transfer your sympathy from individuals to groups?
* Sympathy for the Chelsea female doctor =/= sympathy for Chelsea soccer club =/= sympathy for Chelsea fans =/= sympathy for all soccer doctors =/= sympathy for all women, etc...
* Animosity for these hooligans =/= animosity for all hooligans =/= animosity for their soccer clubs =/= animosity for soccer, etc...

No, I did it to piggyback on your topic and boast, specifically:
- organized professional sports are ethically terribad, so, as a cyclist, I'm figuratively flying Desgrange's flag and giving the middle finger to the UCI;
- Int'l Women's Day in Russia is also terribad, men praise women on being gentle creatures and acceptable helpmeets and wish them (hetero)sexual satisfaction.

So I did 100 km in the snow and 100 more with a broken hub to celebrate properly. (Granted, if I hadn't had such terrible luck with hitching a flush ride or if a Stormbringer hadn't dragged me along, it wouldn't have been much of a celebration to haul my sore loser ass to the final checkpoint.)

The only people who look happy on the route are those who can do 30 kph on gravelly washboard in the hills against the autumn wind - which is to say, not me.

Oh, the gallant-bit was a friendly provo - both "was" n "friendly" in italics if it were easier - so glad u got it! :-D

But then again, I see it as an indiscriminate in chance to procure joy onto others, but requiring good discrimination to carry out, be us guys n gals - so there, for the equality.

What quite strongly bothers me with - to be precice, "out with titties" chants - it is the fact that Chelsea FC is this individual's place of work.

If you personally, or any of your colleagues, were demanded to bare your chests (whatever magnitude of titties there were), say, by your competitiors, suppliers, tax auditors, maybe co-workers even - would you not expect collective indignation? Would you not rally around this topic, and expect others to do so too?

"Rally around" can be quite evil - lynchings and all that - but also, let it be said: there seems to be always someone who is okei to sit next to the person molesting others, just minding his or her own business.

I just wish it were not so. And can only pray I would not go that way out of inertia, group spirit, which is a powerful thing. I hope, but cannot say.

Nice thing about PSG though in CL, especially sans Ibrahimovich! I am weak, as you surely can tell, lol.

You look different today... new haircut? ;)

I have zero opposition to indignation, I'm questioning the target of your indignation being the collective rather than strictly the individuals involved. Indignation - OK, what you do with it - Maybe OK, misdirected indignation - wtf?

And by the way, consider how this misidirection, that you're opposing the whole club, rather than some of its supporters, contributes to that inertia you mentioned...

Oh, let me be foolishly earnest and admit I was franticly sure my account was hacked when it was about explorer being impotent. This be about mtalsi.

Otherwise, it be about trueness - do you really think it be a great game if those fans next to you demand titty showing and would throw a banana, just about, at opposing black player?

Be you, say, "Juventus fan" - you most likely would not throw that banana at Paul Pogba ... at the moment... but sorry to say, I could imagine this being the case when he returns at European level to challenge.

Andrea Pirlo meanwhile.. there will never be a banana.
Hum... it is me again, yea! I think? Yuup! ;-)

But still, I think that while possibly Paul Pogba (a cub of 22) could prove evenutally to have the class and originality of Andrea Pirlo (a man of 35) - and maybe even better - only Pogba might have to mind his skin colour. And that is wrong.

Pirlo would not have a banana thrown at him, at least I cannot see it happening quite very spontaneously...

I never said this type of heckling is good, I just keep asking you how and why it is the club's fault, rather than the individuals involved, and why you'd gain sympathy for the doctor's club, rather than specifically for her.

What does any of that have to do with truth? From my perspective what you do is socialize and enlarge problems' scale due to an unwillingness to confront them at their individual, messy level. You are the one unwillingly to face reality methinks...

Cavenagh: Switzerland is not a member of the EU, you have no say., kick all switz teams out of euro compeition

just concentrate on building your mosques
This is a good example of a not well planned out post...

First off, Tstael isn't Swiss (her forum tag even clearly states this) so there is no point in bringing up Switzerland for a ham-fisted retort.

The majority of people here, myself included, are very clearly anti European Union for reasons of sanity and basic common sense. There's plenty of libtards on the internet who give a different impression, fortunately they do not represent a majority or else we'd be really screwed.
My trainer threatened to beat me up twice as much if I vote for the conservative Swiss People's Party so I'm probably going to vote for the Swiss People's Party. This party is more right wing than UKIP but if I vote for the Social Democrats I won't get beaten up which means less value for my money so clearly I can -not- vote for the Social Democrats.

As for building mosques, I think the UK has as beat fair and square when it comes to Islamophilia. We banned minarets a couple years ago while the UK has Sharia councils and bends over in ways that even our self-hating Liberals (of which we have plenty) have not yet managed.

It is a bit hard to admire anyone that oneself is inclined to dislike - Chelsea in my case - but also surely useful excercise to the mind, eh!

Let us take the Paris metro case first, because its reprehensibilty is surely an "easy" sell.

There are, it seems, three known racist individuals amongst Chelsea supporters, who would see it jolly good fun to push someone out of a metro with some racist insults, even as guests to a foreign nation.

Chelsea as money making enterprise, I bet, would have preferred this never have been video'ed - but at least they had the decency to annouce these persons be banned for life from their grounds, to signal that openly racist persons had better be descreet when attending their games. I do not think these were the only three, but hopefully the rest will button up, henceforth.

Hopefully, the club actually would prefer none of their fans were racists.

Same, I think, applies by analogy, heckling a person performing their functions at their workplace because they happen to be a woman. Chelsea again here, having the guts to have one at their toptier ranks.

If a person next to me in any game would behave like those Chelsea Paris incident fans, or those ManU / Arsenal phallocrat fans... I certainly hope I had the decency to confront them at their individual.

But almost none of us do, or do we? I do meanwhile find such behaviours intolerably poor in spirit and practice, and good on Chelsea for having at least signalled what they should not like to see!
