Ganni1987: AAA publishers are probably still with the "it's DRM-Free = more pirated" mentality, while fully knowing their games on Steam get pirated at release regardless of GOG.
I'm not sure to what extent that continues to be true. I think it has more to do with GOG still being such a small market share compared to Steam (ie, why bother with the extra hassle), or AAA publishers continuing to only use GOG to "fix up" their games.

It makes me curious to what extent GOG could survive without AAA publishers here, but I may just be viewing the future pessimistically as we haven't gotten any EA/Square Enix/etc. love in some time (even for old games still not here); I have very little hope of Activision ever coming back (unless some leadership changes).

Of course GOG will survive. The majority still probably don't know it exists is the problem. Then you have the Steam elite which we won't talk of.
We'll get another influx of users no doubt when the next Witcher DLC appears, and then we won't have anything until Cyberpunk 2077 (that's the number, right?). At least until that game comes here and shows very desirable numbers, I don't think we'll see much in the form of big AAA.

And hey we just got more Stardock after quite some time, so what do I know. ;-)

Even the ones that are already here (Bethesda, WB, Paradox), it's not like they are releasing day 1 releases on here (Fallout 4, Cities Skylines, Mordor, etc.). How much market share is GoG gaining where outside of indie titles, most of the stuff that's getting released are either classic titles or titles that have been already in the market for at least 1 year (some older than that).

Yea it's great they are adding new publishers (like Stardock) but seriously outside of the hardcore DRM-Free user who doesn't buy anything outside of GoG, how many are rushing out to buy a title like GalCiv II which has been out and on sale a lot and been bundled to hell and back by now?

Quiet you. I was referring to AAA for games that are on consoles too. :P
Funny thing though, the last enigmatic hint made me think of some stardock games and I was shot down by someone to even think a stardock game would come here.
