Elmofongo: The adventure was increadible. The best dungeon in the game was the Great Crystal. The voice acting was MILES better than 10.
I miss a fantasy FF eveything is now Sci Fi which I dislike in Final Fantasy.
DaCostaBR: Every Final Fantasy is someone's best/worst Final Fantasy, I don't know why people bother arguing with others, by this point there's no "real" Final Fantasy, pretty much anything is fair game. I miss a fantasy FF eveything is now Sci Fi which I dislike in Final Fantasy.
And they XIV was fantasy, wasn't it? They seem to be alternating between sci fi and fantasy with each game.
If only 15 was an MMO and 14 was Single Player.
ReynardFox: I would love another FF with the gameplay and thematic stylings of FF6 & 9.
Though the whole franchise on PC can eat me so long as Squeenix continue to ignore GOG.
6 is more leaning on the Steampunk side. Though the whole franchise on PC can eat me so long as Squeenix continue to ignore GOG.
Also man 9 was also underrated. Sakamoto said that its what he thinks a Final Fantasy world should be. It was high fantasy. No Sci Fi things.
DaCostaBR: And they XIV was fantasy, wasn't it? They seem to be alternating between sci fi and fantasy with each game.
Sarisio: I-III was fantasy, IV was more like steampunk? V, VI fantasy (magitek doesn't count as sci-fi I think). VII, VIII sci-fi, IX fantasy.
X - subversion: machina is bad! Or so says the religion of Yevon :)
XII - fantasy.
So it isn't alternating, only 7 and 8 were pure sci-fi (love in the cosmos, sorceress serving as satellite and causing worldwide radio interference, and various other stuff)
12 is unbalanced because there is a Sci Fi presence (Why is there flying ships with automatic machine guns yet people are using swords and bows?) however the sci fi elements are more downplayed then the Fantasy.
Ivalice was increadible. Its lore is also great.

This is maybe the most interesting title in Fabula Nova Crystallis, I'm happy to give it a try when heavily discounted.

I still don't know why they ported FF3 from GBA (or was is DS?) but skipped the first 2...
I think there's windows phone versions of them too

6 has the steam engine so that pretty much half of what makes steampunk steampunk.
Chunks of four were hard sci fi just freely mingled with fantasy with no care like off brand D&D (but still manages to be probably the best game in the series).

With the game being released in two weeks and people who already have played this one, is it a good FF title? Can you compare the combat system with Core Crysis? Also how is the story? Does it include a lot of multiple characters like FF4 and FF6? or does it focus on couple of main characters?

anyone got this title? Seems like the port is shitty again. 30 fps lock I can live with but does it have a lot of issues? does the fps get lower than 30 all the time?
