Hey guys,
For those of you who played the 3D-universe GTA Games (GTA 3 - GTA VCS), I'd like to know which GTA games you think are your favorites. You can pick one for the gameplay and one for the story/atmosphere, and an optional third as an honorable mention. My favorite GTAs are:

- GTA Vice City for the story/atmosphere.
- GTA San Andreas for the gameplay.
- Honorable mention: GTA 3.

I will eventually compile a statistic from your guys' opinions and post it up here. Your honorable mentions will be featured as well.

EDIT:
Holy shit guys. What the hell happened here? :) None of my buisness, but here are some things to clarify with all of you:
-This forum was intended by me just to compile a statistical graph on your opinions. I AM NOT A GODDAMN MARKET RESEARCHER WORKING FOR ANY COMPANIES!!! >:c
-This forum was intended to only apply to 3D UNIVERSE GTA games. This means no GTA 4 or 5. Sorry :(

-GTA San Andreas for gameplay
-GTA III for story/atmosphere
-Honorable Mention: GTA Vice City

Love all the games though, but III edges out on atmosphere compared to Vice City since it just has this gritty feel that makes it stick with me a bit more.
Vice city for timeline and story and all the 80's music.
i have the impression that you're doing marketing research to sell it later to a publisher and i don't like that
San Andreas favorite hands down! Best sold game in PS2 console and era, too! And that is a, no, THE, feat!

Vice City for the setting and time era...

3 because it started the 3d era, the changes were many and revolutionary, it had more violence and blood (car explosions would dismember the limbs of the pedestrians and you could rough up hookers more violently) and all civilian service vehicles had sub missions (police, ambulance, taxi, firefighter)!

They probably got less demographic information on you than [insert your favorite search engine here] got on you in your past three searches. :)

Oh... and I never played GTA until GTA IV, so apparently my favorite game --never looked into getting 5 at all.

Defintely San Andreas
Funny. I just gave up on Vice City yesterday and uninstalled it. Horribly bad. The writing, the missions, the controls... it's all so bad it's not even funny. It's so repetative. Drive to A, get a badly written, poorly voice acted cut-scene telling you to go to B, go to B, shoot someone (horrible aiming by the way, and no impact to the guns), or chase someone (more driving after you just drove here) and then repeat again and again. If there is any variation it's something like the fucking RC helicopter mission, the worst designed thing I have vever seen in any game. That mission is nightmare fuel. I so wanted to like this game. I should love it, the 80's setting and everything. But even that is lame, it's just some songs on the radio and the clothes. It's like the people who designed this googled "Miami Vice", and never bothered to figure out what actually made it work.

I hate this series. Every time I try and play it I find it badly designed, poorly written, repetative and tedious. I can not figure for the life of me why people like it.

Least favorite use of 'Gangstah Culture': San Andreas
Least likable protagonist: Tied first place GTA4 and 5 for Nico and Trevor respectively
Best setting: Vice City
Best gameplay: GTA5
Most innovative: GTA3

Favorite GTA game: Tied first place for Saints Row 2 and 3
I did play GTA3 through again on my phone not long time ago and I must say I liked how straight forwarded it felt in comparision to the other games in the series. Just you doing missions, no calling girlfriends or homies nor unnecessary minigames or entertainment venues.

Usually when someone asks I say immediatly Vice City, but GTA3 might actually trump it.
San Andreas for the loooong motorways :D

Never criticize another person unless you've walked a mile in their shoes. That way, if they get angry, you're a mile away and you have their shoes! :)

Niko is not likable?

Get out of my face.

At least he has more depth then, "Look at me I'm voiced by Ray Liotta" Tommy Vercetti.
