almabrds: Charon121 argument doesn't invalidate my post. I was trying to help OP, and I don't remember asking for his opinion. My suggestion isn't wrong because he doesn't agree with me.
About the quests, what is the problem in doing NCR/Vault City/Modoc quests before The Den/Klamath/etc ? It's open world, nobody said you have to complete quests in a specific order.
I sense some needless hostility here. I will give my opinion on a public forum on any post I see fit, even yours. And yes, it's an open world, but you have to know what you're doing if you want to go to higher-level areas before completing the lower-level ones, otherwise the game will become frustrating. Some people make a beeline for SanFran to get the vertibird plans quest, and then to Navarro for the power armor, but that's pure metagaming and not a logical exploration of the game world.

Licurg: Wasn't there a secret location early in the game where you could find a lot of money ? Or was that in Fallout 1 ?
Suggested in Fallout 1, found in Fallout 2....where caps are absolutely useless :)

I got tired of people trying to invalidate my posts in forums, if that wasn't your objective I apologise.

I forgot to mention that you can blackmail Dr. Troy, that way you receive money every month.
As Matewis said, selling weapons/gear is another good way of making money in Fallout 2.

It's OK, I'm not out to invalidate you, but I can disagree with people from time to time. After all, I played through the game at least a dozen times so I know some good ways ways to enjoy it without frustration.
STEAL EVERYTHING
SELL/TRADE
REPEAT

That's pretty much the easy path to success. Seriously you end up with so much money it becomes worthless and more items than you'll ever need. Gathering party members and the car become essential just to hold all the loot.
You can see how much something is worth when you put it in your inventory. Just carry high value items and barter as much as you can. If someone can't barter money, then barter for drugs. They are lightweight and can be extremely valuable.
Ok, i've managed to where money and equipment are no issue. But now i'm stuck at the Navarro base. I had no idea i could infiltrate it peacefully so i simply went in through that house next to the gas station, cleared everything inside but no matter where i come out, i get massacred. After finding out that i can do it peacefully, i tried going to the front gate but i get attacked on sight. I have tried finding a video about it but it seems everyone knew about infiltration before actually reaching that part of the game. My current companions are Lenny, Vic and K-9. For some reason, Lenny runs away the moment the fight starts, K-9 isn't attacking anyone and Vic only attacks enemies when they come close (and i have them all set to ranged).

EDIT: Oh yeah, i'm using Advanced Power Armor and that Pulse Rifle i found in the BoS outpost.

The 2nd best armor in the game, if I remember correctly.

You are right, the best armor is Adv. Power Armor MKII, and you can find it in SPOILERS.
As i said, i couldn't do the peaceful solution since i already killed the robed guy guarding the gas station and everyone under the gas station. I did however manage to kill everyone without any followers on my own while taking minimal damage. Annoying enough, it turns out i didn't need anything else from the base, i seem to have picked everything up when i cleared the bunker under the base. Can't believe i spent all day on this. Now i'm back in SF trying to rescue Suze. Might just give up on her since there's no way i can reach her before she dies.

EDIT: Guess it was a bug since they were attacking her the moment i enter the room. Today i entered the room again and everyone focused on me so i saved her with no issue. Can't plant a grenade on Richardson though, it never goes off. Google time i guess.

EDIT2: Finished the game today...i think it's bugged since i got certain endings that shouldn't have happened because i know i took care of some of the things that seem to have gone wrong in the ending, for example Gecko and Vault City.
