DOOM 3 Phobos was asking for my CD keys, despite this being a GOG release. Shouldn't this already be included?

Classic REbirth is a set of patches for CAPCOM’s Survival Horror PC ports, currently supporting Resident Evil 1-2-3 and Dino Crisis 1-2. This patch is specifically aimed at the Japanese release by MediaKite, the latest build available for the PC port. It wont’t work with any of the US or European releases of the game.
So not for the GOG version. Did you try it yourself before posting here?

It is playable with the japanese versions that GOG has on the site and makes them english, and yes I did test it. :D

Any Amazon DOOM 3 owners confused by DOOM 3: Phobos' implied "you don't own game" banner, it's just GOG's (continued) malfunction with game versions/provenance. If you add the mod to your library via the purchase interface it will recognize you do, in fact, own it. However I wonder if this discrepancy is why many are reporting key/code demands from the modded game on launch?

This is one of the weirdest modding thingies I’ve seen, and it seems very limited, just total conversions more than anything else. For me it misses the fun parts of modding, all the silly and clever little things people can do. I honestly don’t see the point.

I think I’ll stick with Nexus. Even as someone as computer illiterate like me, I’ve never had any trouble installing the mods I want from there. When it comes to total conversions, I’m happy to give the authors the traffic.

For me personally, I don’t see a reason to use this, so it’s definitely not for me.

Breja: Wait, is that how this works? That's nonsense. Didn't even occur to me. I assumed as obvious that we'd jsut be downloading an add-on. What am I supposed to re-download an re-install the whole thing to get a mod? And maybe waste space to keep two full downloads of a game if I want to have a back up of both the mod and vanilla game?

RizzoCuoco: Sadly, this is indeed how GOG have set it up to work. As you have said...complete nonsense at its finest! For example, Fallout 4 one-click mod is simply Fallout 4 all over again with the mod directly applied. GOG must have intended this process to be reserved for the most simple-minded people out there. ROTFLMAO
Well, I can't really blame them. How many people know how to use a computer or bother to learn anymore? They 're used to tapping and scrolling. Not many know what a command prompt is or what to do in one. Fewer people even know you have to download all of the bin files or how to decompress a zip.

To Gog if you people are indeed going with this I would like to suggest if viable looking into getting the total conversion and combining mod thing thats for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas known as 'Tale of Two Wastelands'' as it'd make it alot easier if treated the same way as the others you have gotten up here
