The unfortunate fact is probably that for many it is.. Most of the games that have been dropped / pulled so far seem to be more obscure less selling ones. They maybe only sold a few dozen copies and that's why they didn't bother keeping it up to date.

GOG is growing, but I'd say the core audience is still interested in certain types of games and genres and these oddball indie games just don't sell well. Plus GOG gets a reputation for these kind of games not being updated too so many people probably buy them on Steam just in case... so the outlook and sales here for such games is probably not great, and if the dev doesn't have a particular reason to want to sell here or a commitment to DRM free then they won't.

Yes, it is worrying makes one wonder what game is next and this seem to always happen during sales for some reason. I still think it's better in the long run that GOG make demands and I prefer to know what I buy here is not missing content and is up to date when there are updates on other stores.

At least it doesn't seem impossible, as the GOG version apparently did get at least two updates last year, judging by this:

So 1.05.02 and 1.06 appeared to GOG, but then nothing. And those two updates even came quite soon to GOG after release, so there didn't seem to be a big delay either. Seems to me just that the developer lost interest in keeping the game up to date on GOG, rather than that it would be so hard.

It seems the game has DRM-free downloadable versions also on itch.io and humblebundle.com. I wonder if they are kept up to date either? I presume not.


Good thing GOG is now delisting some of these games. Not sure how GOG finds it out, do they poll the publishers for all the (pretty recent) games whether there are missing updates?

How did you find that out? I tried to see what the Steam version is, but I didn't see the version number on the store page.

I checked also the link behind "View Update History", but it wasn't a changelog, it was more like announcements and news from the developer. I didn't clearly see from it either, what was the last update for the Steam version.

I recall easily seeing the version number for some other Steam games on the store page, but not for this game for some reason.

LOL at first I thought it was a joke or a warning that they were doing some sort of backend work and for a short time you wouldn't be able to search / buy games.
