Linko90: Everything (2017) has, unfortunately, departed from our catalog. Despite efforts to ensure the GOG version remained up to date with other platforms, both GOG and Double Fine Presents have agreed to delist the game.
For those who currently own Everything, don’t worry, you still (and always will) have access to it.

First I saw the title of this thread and presumed someone was overreacting to something and suggesting that all games in the GOG catalogue would be removed. Perhaps their favourite game was removed or similar and they were emotionally overreacting etc. I didn't pay attention to who posted it though.
Then I read the first post, and seeing it was from a blue I realized it was an official message so my next thought was some form of April Fools Day joke. Looked at the date and... nope. Re-read it and then triggered the thought that "Everything" might be the title of an actual game. Had a chuckle, while recalling memories of The French Monks from years gone by. :)
Good to see you guys still have a sense of humour even if it goes over some people's heads. (You got me for a bit.)
Having said that, while it is sad to see any games departing from the catalogue generally speaking, there are a fair number of games in the store which the developers have released here and then more or less abandoned. They update the Steam version and never or rarely ever update the GOG version which makes many customers who are aware of this very leary of buying GOG versions of newer games which are within their 1st stage support tier where patches are generally produced regularly. People do not want to have an inferior version of a brand new expensive game that never receives patches. It's one of the reasons why I almost never buy brand new game releases and I'm sure I'm not alone.
To date as far as I know GOG has remained silent on the issue leaving us all to make our own decisions without any idea what GOG will do about this real problem. This is the first time I've seen GOG actively try to do something about the problem and I'm happy to see this happening as I think the problem will become much larger as GOG's customer base grows.
It's not good for GOG's core business IMHO if it ends up being seen as the place to buy new releases that never get updated by the developer/publisher. On the other side I can understand why GOG might be hesitant to have publishers/developers make contractual obligations to update their games as it could cause less games to even show up in the store, but on the other side - do we really want games here that the publishers wont commit to the platform in writing?
Anyhow, I'm glad to see that GOG has communicated with a publisher over their game and they've mutually decided to discontinue the title in the store rather than selling an inferior product version here. That is IMHO being responsible and that helps to build more faith in the platform for everyone.
I hope to see GOG do more of this in the future, but more importantly I hope to see more devs/pubs treat the GOG platform with the respect it deserves, and for the releases here to have release quality parity with Steam and other platforms in the future.
Thanks for communicating this with us!
