Has anyone tried the game via Legendary, as I believe that has some no Epic options?

angelblue: Hi. I tested today's free game "Moving out".

With the command "-AUTH_PASSWORD=0 -EpicPortal" the game starts and you can play. But unfortunately, once you start the game again. The save is not kept.
This doesn't work for me. I only get a black screen after the splash images.
(win7 x64, offline, no epic installed)

does anyone know, if the epic versions of rott and sott are at least denuvo free? the steam versions should be, as far as i know.

I can test this but I don't know how. Afaik Denuvo contacts its server to get a sort of key but it only does this one time or so. So even by preventing internet access and being able to run it would not proof anything since I already started it once in online mode.

Games with Denuvo have executable files with inflated sizes. Shadow of the Tomb Raider's Steam version had an executable file over 250 MBs, which was trimmed to about 40 once Denuvo was removed.

Another way to figure out if a game has Denuvo is to keep it offline for an extended period of time. If it has Denuvo, it will require reauthentication after 2-3 weeks.

Thank you. So with around 40MB and 30MB for the executables in shadow and rise I guess it is pretty safe then to confirm that Denuvo has been removed in the epic releases.

thanks, hopefully there is then no denuvo in them. i read somewhere, that there are different ways to implement denuvo (more or less intrusive) and only the very intrusive ones hit game performance. anyway with only 40 or 30 mb's i guess that its the less intrusive/no bad game performance kind.

I have a solution to start SOTTR through steam.
If you start the game via epig games portal (or in my case I started it with the desktop shortcut created by epig games, I guess it does the same) you can use ProcessExplorer to get more info about the sottr.exe process. Right click > Properties shows you all the commandd line arguments. just copy them except -EpicPortal to steam as launch args for the steam foreign game.

Doesn't this mean that the game would still be using your Epic login credentials? I'm pretty sure that with shortcuts made by Epic, even if the launcher itself isn't running, you're still technically logged into an Epic account when the game starts.

Blasphemous, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! and Huntdown all ran directly on two different Linux systems (using Wine), downloaded them via Legendary on one of them. They also ran fine on Windows, the Epic client was installed on it but not running and the system wasn't connected to the internet.

Couldn't get Demon Turf running without Legendary providing Epic authentication on Linux, just loads infinitely when launched normally on Windows and Linux otherwise. `-EpicPortal`, `-AUTH_LOGIN=0 -AUTH_PASSWORD=0` were tried but still no luck.

Backbone is DRM-free if you launch it directly from the exe.

the default desktop icon will try to start the epic games client.
